Then Auburn will be overrated. You should know how this works by now.

But it doesn't really matter. We're 11th in the AP right now. We beat Auburn and we'll probably be close to top 5 if not in top 5. Win and everything will take care of itself. Why are people hung up on everything the pundits say?

A lot of people praised LSU but we dismiss those and give the most attention to a minority that say "let's wait and see."

Didn’t herbstreit tweet after the game that he was wrong about LSU?

Why sing a different tune on television?

Doesn't really matter if we win or lose as long as we play a good competitive game is what everyone wants to see. If they see that then I think they will know this team is the real deal. Of course we want to win this game at the same time. We can win it, it's not like this team hasn't faced great defense's and DLs before.

This team will get better and better and I also think Steve E will have a great plan for each team with a solid back up plan if the original isn't working. I don't wanna say what that is but I know we have a great plan for that Auburn game already. Lsu will just have some basic run plays installed for tonight to see if we can simply execute and not miss blocks. We will also pass the ball plenty tonight and will need some of that against Auburn.

The main attack will not be seen until we face Auburn and we may not see that until it's known that we need it. Then again he may just throw it out there to keep them off balance. I just know it's in there, not sure when or how it will be used. I'm excited to see how we attack each team each week. It won't be the same ole same ole like last year and with Miles. Different attack for different teams.

College GameDay Panel, specifically Pollack and Herbstreit, are not buying LSU after the win over Miami.

I don't thing (right now) that LSU is as good as the scored indicated. I don't think the Miami O is good. The Miami D is legit.

But LSU has an exceptionally high ceiling.

Lastly, I don't really care what the Gameday panel thinks. They all thought Miami was going to beat LSU last week. So there's that.

I didn't watch any of this, so I'm going to type on this as is.
quote:

not impressed with the output
What, the score? The way the scores happened? The way the team played? I agree it was a sloppy affair as far as drops and clock management, and play calling in the second half. They aren't LSU fans, so of course they won't be impressed with what we'd be impressed with.
quote:

Miami really didn't show up
Did LSU? Week one games are usually very sloppy, which is why you see weird scores from teams that are much better than they showed. Both LSU and Miami are better than they showed. LSU didn't do anything special in that game and still dominated.
quote:

Joe Burrow is good and calming influence, but not enough
How could anybody make this declaration after the first start of his entire career? Trace Mcsorley completed 51% of his passes for 200 yards (6.7 ypa) with two TDs, and this was vs Kent St. It was his first career start. For the last few years, Penn St had been awful on offense). By the end of the season, he had won the big 10, and totaled 3900 yards and 36 TDs from scrimmage (3600 yards and 29 TDs passing, averaging 9.3 ypa). His WRs didn't, and don't compare with what LSU has. Burrow has that same type of talent, we just have to hope O, Ensminger, and the WRs, let it shine.

I'll make my own declaration. After the UGA game, Burrow will be considered one of the best QBs in the SEC.
quote:

win was emotionally driven; can't hold the emotion up through the season
This was just completely stupid. What the chip on our shoulder thing? That'll last all year. Outside of that, the only other emotion is the excitement of most of these guys starting/playing in their first collegiate/LSU game.

Gotta agree, beat Auburn and thing will change. Just as they said

This. It was not a complete win. And we really don’t know how good Miami is.

Beat Auburn and let Things take care of themselves.

I’m not yet either. It’s not like they put up 400 yards of offense.

Guys LSU could have beat Miami worse than 33-17 most LSU fans finally have calmed down about Aleva's awesome hire in O. Now O got his guys in place Ensminger etc...LSU held back and did not show a lot of their ammo for good reason. Long tough grinder of a season. LSU will kick AU's arse. It will happen. Herbie amd Crew have to talk about something. So of course LSU is on their radar to put in place. Tebow butt hurt because Florida off the radar and no one gives a shite in media about the Gaytors. It's all good We re stacked big time. Wins gonna happen. Great to be a Tiger Fan.

These same guys recently stated that the Big 10 East was a stronger division than the SEC West. That's a good calibration point IMO.

One play at a time one game at a time and at the end of the season we will know how good ww were. I love this underdog role. As long as we play hard and smart we should be a good team.

As I mentioned it was a summary of what they said, and really it was all they said - no extrapolation.

Simply put, they don't respect LSU. It was really more Miami who lost than that LSU won/ dominated. They don't think we are that capable during this season... we won't compete for anything meaningful.

I think your questions are a reasonable response to their declarations.

To be completely honest, I like the lack of expectations. It will be up to this team for how good they want to be.
