There is talk about moving the season up a week (currently week 0) so the season doesn't stretch so late into January

Shitty move if so.

Add a week to the most miserable weather of the year.

The first two rounds should be on campus.

Quarterfinal games are going to be played in half-empty stadiums.

What I'd like to see, and will never happen, is for college football to go back to 11 regular season games, allowing this calendar to be bumped up by a week.

Winning the championship will be very difficult. The 1 seed still has a lot of opportunities to lose because the competition will be fierce

Probably not. Depends on the matchup though.

Last year, you think a Michigan vs USC/Bama Rose Bowl quarterfinal wouldn't sell out? Clemson vs Penn State/Ohio State Peach Bowl? Georgia vs Kansas St/Tenn in the Sugar?

The only one from last year that would have possibly struggled would have been Utah vs Tulane/TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.

This is completely irrelevant to what has been created.

Fanbases will hold out hope for the semi-finals and final games to save money. It already happens in the current 4-team model. Semifinal games tix are cheap unless it's being played in someone's backyard.

Also, I think it would be rewarding for the top seeds to get to host a playoff game.

Potentially four extra games for the champion and runner up? I see lots of opt outs for highly ranked draft picks.

You are getting downvoted, but you are most likely correct.

NYE games are pointless IMHO - that’s even my birthday - no one likes it and especially no wife in America is happy about this and it just ruins the vibe - why do that?

I love the idea of a true playoff, just like all other sports have. Not a huge fan of this execution though. It’d be 10x better if we left the semis and NCG exactly as they are today, and the quarterfinals were also on campus of the higher seeded team. Imagine the scene of Bama at Michigan in midwinter or Ohio State at Clemson with a semis birth on the line.

Good point. I held out in 2019/2020 (didn't go to the semi-final) cause it cost me a fortune to take my boys to the Natty. The gamble paid off though!

The top seeds will rightfully complain that they are the most deserving and should have a home game on campus along with the bye. The first two rounds should be on campus.
