I think 11 is probably about right although I could certainly be convinced to nudge them into top 10

Tenn and Penn State lol. What have then done in the last 25 years? This is stupid

Penn State’s ranking as number 10 ahead of UGA and LSU is a joke.

The grasshoppers on this board will never know how dominant Nebraska was under Osborne.

I wonder why a list ranking all time programs wouldn't limit it to just the last 25 years?

If your argument is that 1920-2000 has more weight then let’s include Army and Pittsburgh lol

You all realize this is based on all-time AP voting right? =)

A&M at #21 seems really high. How did that happen?

Terrible list. In addition to Penn state what has Oklahoma done lately.
Reduce the list for the past 20-30 years. Much different list.

I love how some are treating this as Pete Fiutak's opinion. As spelled out in the CFN article, the formula is based on the final ranking of each team in the AP poll. Of course, the AP poll is subjective, but this is a reasonable attempt to measure the historical position of each program.
It's interesting to speculate on which teams will rise or fall over the next few years. For example, I could see Notre Dame continue to decline as its glory years fade further into the past. Same for Nebraska. I think LSU's position has probably risen considerably since 2000 and should continue to do so in coming years.
Another thing I find interesting is seeing some of the teams clustered near the bottom of the list, including some that no longer play football (e.g. Santa Clara) and even some WWII service teams that played college ball during the war (e.g. Great Lakes Navy and Iowa Pre-Flight).
