Actually #1, tied with two others (Ollie Gordon and Will Johnson), all at 96 overall.

Also cracking the top 100 are:

Perk 92
Emery 90
Mason 90

Possibly.

In 2022 he was a complete game wrecker and easily the most impactful defender on LSU's roster, if not the entire SEC.

In 2023 he was largely a non-factor

Given LSU had the same DC in both years you have to ask why such a drastic change?

Did House just completely misuse him?
Was he only really good in 2022 because LSU had much better players around him and without those guys in 2023 opponents were able to focus on him?
Is he just a "one trick pony" (edge rusher) that opponents figured out how to scheme around?

Most likely it is a combination of all three. In the right spot at the right time Perkins has proven to be unstoppable. Getting him there is key, which might be difficult because he's somewhat of a "tweener". He gets compared to Micha Parsons a lot, but Parson's is 6'3, 245lbs. Perkins is probably closer to 6'0, 220lb. He's built more like a throwback SS than ILB.

My guess is that Baker is going to use him as an inside blitzer FAR more than House did last year because Baker is going to be more aggressive and less adamant to play a "keep everything in front of you" zone with the DBs.

Mason Taylor is rated the second best draft eligible TE in the upcoming draft so it makes plenty of sense

From the rankings we see there it's shown that when you break down seperate scores for each category there is not much difference at all between Campbell and EJ, I think nationally(not by tiger fans) that EJ is a little bit overshadowed by Campbell, but when teams really get into the draft evals and get out the fine tooth comb i believe that EJ will move even further up on draft boards. What great fortune it was for the future of LSU O line play and recruiting that both those guys were in the same class for Davis to be able to get ahold of and show his development abilities and in a year that the o line HAD to have talent like that to rebuild it. It proved to players that in years like this where we lose 4 starters that Davis has and will start true Fr if they're ready which has no doubt helped us put together an already awesome o line class which still has a spot left to make it our best o line class ever

They should rerank every player during their last year to assess who had the actual best recruiting classes
