Possibly ice? Not sure what the weather is down there. He's also insanely young so overall lack of driving experience.

They can get a sense of whether alcohol was involved on the scene, but they'll likely do a blood test.
I am hopeful he was sober and it was an accident.
Also, if he was stoned, which isn't unusual for a college kid, they would have a hard time determining if he was stoned AT THE TIME of the crash.

The cause of the crash has not been released, but officials said impairment was not suspected.

No ice in BR although it was a little rainy last night.

South Quad Drive is the road that runs in front of PFT. Speed limit is 20 mph. That's a pretty busy intersection, not at 2:45 am though. Wonder if there are any pictures out there floating around.

There are an arse ton of oaks at that crossing. Big curve onto Highland, maybe just mis-judged it.

Prayers for the young man and his family.
Hope he is alright and makes a full recovery. Football really doesn’t matter here.

And Highland Rd is 25 mph there. That’s not a place where you would crash into a tree and be unresponsive unless something was up.

Y'all are assuming he was going the speed limit.

No, the point of that post what it’s clear he wasn’t going the speed limit.

How can anyone downvote that lol

Hopefully it wasn’t impairment but still if it wasn’t he was likely driving carelessly. These young kids and you put them behind a V8 they do really stupid stuff

Kids get in wrecks. Hopefully he's all good, and thankfully no one else was involved. A lot of kids are driving vehicles that they really can't or shouldn't handle.
Posted on 1/16/25 at 11:05 am to lsuhunt555
He had to have been driving like a bat out of hell to be unresponsive after a crash on that road

a blood test can measure the nanograms of THC per mL of blood. The general threshold for being legally intoxicated is 5 nanograms per mL of blood (for THC)

Hope he's ok and no one else got injured. Beyond that, whether it was this, that, or the other that caused it we can sort out and go forward from there. Just be ok.
