Cowboys had a guy who kick FG's from 60. But he couldn't hit shite from 30 to 40. Give me Tracy over that any day.

Cole Tracy earned the Lou Groza trophy at LSU.

No one can take that away from him.

Leg strength just isn't there for pro ball

Honestly with how many XPs get missed in the NFL now Im surprised teams don't want guys that are automatic up to about 45 and and have another guy that kicks 50+

I know roster spots are limited but Im willing to bet some of these punters with huge legs have that kinda range even if their not as accurate.

People tend to go for it much more often in that range then in the past. You need to be able to drill 0-20 yard fgs (extra point) be solid 43-52 yards out. Cole Tracy doesn’t have the leg he kicks it low... it would get exploited in the nfl and he can’t kick kickoffs either

I don’t understand how someone can downvote what you stated. Cole Tracy just isn’t good enough to be a pro kicker and that’s all there is to it.

He had a long of 54 at LSU, in 2018 there were 18 kickers with a long of 53 or less. He was also 3/5 from 50+. He doesn't have an elite leg but it's not like he's only good inside 40yds.

hope something works out for him

Medical sales is a great field and I'm sure he would be great at it.

That thing barely squeaked in. Watch pro kickers warm up. They can kick much farther. He doesn't have pro power. It's that simple.

I would prefer to have the automatic from 50 in guy, than the guy who can sometimes nail a 60, but is inconsistent at shorter distances. You know 100% whether to punt, go for it, or kick the fg

There are enough guys that can do both. There's only 32 jobs, and way more just waiting for an opening.
