I was talking to my dad the other day and he brought up something I thought was pretty funny. He said that in an interview after the A&M win Wade said that he got "caught up in the moment" and "didn't make the team run their warm-down sprints" after the game. Went on to say that "He wont make that mistake again".

Did anyone else catch that? I find it very refreshing to have a coach fully committed to the success of LSU and genuinely loving his job and the struggle.

Bottom line is... WILL WADE

He might want to start a new tradition of forgetting the warm down sprints...cause they proceeded to destroy Arkansas at their place. Just sayin

Young coaches make mistakes.

Makes you wonder if Coach Ensminger once did the same after leading Central to a big win over Walker.

Where do they run the warm-up sprints?

On the floor of the arena where the game was played?

In the parking lot?

Actually, they probably run them in the new practice facility behind the PMAC. I don't think MBB uses the dungeon anymore.

No. There are 5 key goals Wade has for every game. One is 40 deflections; another is (I think) less than 12 turnovers; another is outrebouding the opponent, etc., etc. If LSU doesn't achieve a certain amount of those 5 goals in a game the team has to run sprints the next day.

Wade said they only hit 2 of 5 marks in the A&M game, which generally means they have to run (win or lose). But, he said they caught him in a moment of weakness celebrating the win and convinced him to not make them run.

Had completely forgotten about that! good call. Glad to see them updating the facilities, I know it was in Wade's contract that they do some renovations and put some money into the basketball program so hopefully more things like the big screen are to come.

So is this gonna be brought up every Will Wade thread? Because the standard response is he was brought here by Nunez and this was Alleva's third basketball hire.
