Some of your percentages are off.
So are your CWS totals

Hoover isn't the real post season. It's exhibition play.

So outside of 2009 (with smokes players), Paul stinks in postseason. Not unexpected.

See analogy with Miles winning with Sabans players and then running the program into the ground.

FALSE
Paul had pretty much 100% turned over the roster from the Laval era by 2009 (his 3rd year).
The only major contributor I can remember was Louis Coleman, and he wasn't much of anything under Laval.

To the Paul Mainieri family members that downvoted this statement, real postseason means you are facing elimination. Unless you enter the SEC tournament on the bubble, you aren't feeling the true post season pressure.

Which ones? I fixed the CWS.
I have no doubt he is a good coach.

There's kind of an interesting pattern in that his worst years seem to come when LSU football has its best years. If it meant football went to the playoff this year would fans be okay with baseball missing the postseason? Hmm.

Coleman was pretty much the only one, unless you want to count Ryan Byrd and Nolan Cain who were basically the Collin Strall and Nick Bush of 2009.
ETA: Buzzy, Nick Pontiff and Chris McGhee were really good at towel waving from the dugout.

Didn't he recruit Blake Dean as a pitcher?

Smoke did. I mean, you saw his cannon from the outfield. What could possibly have gone wrong? Aside from 58 foot fastballs, of course.

Yep. He also let JT Wise run the team, Paul came in and put an end to that shite.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic here or not, but having met some of the guys that were run off early on, he purged a lot of shitty attitudes from the roster.

Yep, motivated Paul is a fricking good coach.
To take over that shite from Smoke and have them in Omaha 2 years later was crazy, to win a title 3 years later was nothing short of a miracle.

Not many, but they were all developed by Paul... to call them "Smoke's Players" would be disingenuous.
