You think after what happened last season that O will be able to hire from outside his circle and hand the offense over to some as young as Briles?

Ensminger is going to be the OC. If there are changes, it will be some additional analysts and maybe a position coach or two.

ETA: This is assuming Ensminger doesn't resign or request to be moved back to his old position.

How can you say that after all of the changes that he made last year?

O knew he needed to win more than the 5-7 games he was projected to win to keep
His job. He hired people he trusted could help him do that.

He realizes there are weaknesses on staff and will make the moves necessary.

I hope O is on board with the offense he runs, otherwise it will end up being a hire made just to please the fans. Sort of like Canada. The only reason he hired him was because he felt like he had to make a big splash hire in his first year.

Honestly, if something does change on offense it's going to continue to be the same ole story. At best, 2nd in the west, at worse middle of the pack in the west. Playing in the Capital One, Peach, or Music bowl.

What's frustrating is that we are the only team that can somewhat go toe to toe with Bama, but all we do is battle test them as they go on to the SEC title game and into the CFB playoffs.

Right. That's the only hope, and Orgeron's only lifeline.

Fat chance that he'll admit a second consecutive mistake at OC. E will have to bail him out and he might just do that.

If he wants that second contract, yes!

You're probably right, I was just looking for some other opinions. I'm kinda of the belief that just firing Ensminger and then looking for an OC isn't really the way to go. Of course, if a Freeze or Briles is willing to come then you hire them. However, I think I prefer the continuity over another shot in the dark hire.

Yes.

He will address the Offensive line. That doesn’t require a coaching change just better players.

If the offense is putrid next year, then what?

O lost me when he named E as OC. We had deep pockets that brought a lot of candidates into play and he rolled with E. That was off the charts bad.

Lunatik online on 11/13/18 at 7:49 pm to KingMo How do you think it's going to affect recruiting if he makes a change at OC for the 3rd straight year?

It certainly won’t hurt. Will actually help.

Having to admit that he failed 2 years in a row at hiring an offensive coordinator doesn't exactly give the impression that the guy knows what he's doing is my concern.

I've slept on it many nights now. I'm with you. Ensminger holds the key. He would have to choose to step aside. No way in hell O urges him to step aside. Could Alleva step in? I don't know.
