Oh goody, more Les vs O bullshite.
I used to engage but the Les era is over and it's irrelevant so I have no fricks left to give.
O stands on his own now. It's his team, his program and the program seems to be going in the right direction after a pause and a reset.
Last year was our beast season since 2013 and 2019 should be even better.

2019 schedule sets up very well.we need a little luck, but it should be a great year.

In 2+ seasons he has 1 decent win against a team that has a defense in the top 15. 1. UGA.He hasn't beaten ANYONE other than UGA SINCE HE HAS BEEN COACH.
I'd give him credit for beating Louisville in the 2016 bowl game, although they came into the game losing their last 2 games of the regular season.
Auburn in 2017 was a decent win. And of course Georgia this past year was a great win.
So in my opinion, he has one decent win in 2016, one decent win in 2017 and one really good, or great, win in 2018.
Not much to brag about.

Absolutely. All wins and losses are squarely on his shoulders now going into year 3. That's customary for any coach at this juncture. Same as Miles winning in '07 was all him. Let's hope Coach O has the same type of success. He has the talent to get there.

Again, no one is having this arguement but you.

You're blinded by bias too. Just from the other direction.
The difference being that the posters that you're complaining about are willing to give the coaching staff the time to get back on top. The side you're on thinks LSU has never left the top Nevermind their record for the last several years. They believe the coaches have held LSU down
Now who sounds more delusional and biased?
Ben, while I don't agree with you, I appreciate you at least trying to clearly put together an argument, unlike some others in your entourage.
How do you know what "side" I'm on? O is a relative of mine, albeit distant. I've never said he should be fired or personally insulted him. I support LSU and the HC. And am pleased with the recruiting and Brady hire.
But at the same time, I'm growing tired of the excuses and the lack of an offense. This season, barring any injuries, should be make it or break it. 3 losses shouldn't be the expectation. Great recruiting and coaching hires doesn't mean jack if they don't translate into results on the field.
And yes, O deserves some time. Some folks act like the cupboard was totally bare though with no talent and that this was a total rebuild, which is far from the truth. He didn't step into a Dinardo situation.

For all the love of O finishing strong has he ever finished a season 2-0?
Has he ever won out after losing to Alabama?
No
Has he ever won out after losing to Alabama?
No

Its amazing how Miles had lost it with 3 losses but O( with a vastly inferior offense) has you pumped. But yeah youre not biased.
I was a les fan and against the O hire. However, your statement above misses the point. Les’ 3 losses were bad ones. He was starting to get whipped badly every year by Bama, and he was struggling with crap teams like Ms State and Arkansas. Added to that he was posting zero great wins. Recruits were considering LSU a second tier program.
Now, many recruits still consider us second tier. And we still have not been competitive with Bama. But we are moving in the right direction - both on the field and in recruiting. The jury is still out, but the defeatist attitude that had settled on Les’ program has been replaced with a team-on-a-mission attitude.
If Orgeron can’t beat Bama soon, and post a 2 or 1 loss season then he’ll settle back into second tier. But for the first time in years I feel like we have a chance to claw back against Bama.

Can't we just all agree that we need to not only continue to get and do a better job of developing our personnel on the OL but we also need to do a better job of scheming around deficiencies on said OL in our playcalling and play design?
No....no I think I'd rather just fire the OC and start over.

Unfortunately in certain areas the cupboard was lacking. The offensive line being one. 2018 saw a drop off in running back talent. Young players on the offensive line put on the field before they were ready.
People aren't making excuses by pointing out weaknesses on the team. They're simply pointing out places that need improvement. Sure there are plenty of people that are too lazy to delve into reasons and just like to point at the coaches. That's fine too but don't attack people that see improvement and think the team is moving in the right direction. Building a new offense and implementing a new offense was obviously a little more difficult than they anticipated. Only 30% of it was installed at the beginning of the season so every week along with the gameplan a portion of the offense had to be installed. It was a difficult season no doubt. In 2019 there should be no such difficulty. Everybody should be on the same page. The line men should be better after another year. Joe threw for 2900 yards. I expect much more out of him. The running game will be better. Wide receivers will be better.
Things are looking good for this season. I don't understand the negativity.

I don’t think going 10-3 next year would warrant firing O but it would definitely be disappointing.
I'll take it only on two conditions.....a win against Bama....and wiping the floor with the Faggies in BR.
I don't even care about the rest of the fricking schedule.

I feel like it was definitely time for a new message. It seemed to me that the kids were having more fun and were re-energized when Coach O took over.

You're right the other games dont count because those teams weren't ranked as high as you think they should have been.

Perfect! Up in Aspen right now with the fam crushing some fabulous ski conditions.
But this new alter gets under my skin and this 70-page O frick fest is beyond ridiculous. Just firing some shots across people's bow for shits and giggles.
You doing ok?

Do you really think he’d have been fired after the Auburn game had we pulled that off and won? It’s about winning and losing.
Obviously not 3-1 is easier to swallow and keeps us in the hunt.
They fked up by not shite-canning him anyway after the TAM pity party.
