I hope he improves. Hate to see a tiger fail.

He tweeted last night that hes getting back to himself again.

We are already stacked at WR, so if he can get going, then we should be great for the rest of the year. We have the depth at WR to be great.

Clearly you guys didn't hear Hawthorne's live call.

Giles is due for even a small game.

I think once Giles snaps out of this slump he's going to shine. That man coverage is giving him fits.

Hopefully he gets his on the back end of the season. If LSU's offense can find him and McMath as new weapons...watch out.

I think this was a subtle hint to Giles that if he doesn't step it up he's going to be riding the bench. Because he didn't say he was due for a breakout game, he said he hopes he can have a breakthrough soon and show some of the things he did when he was on the scout team red shirting. That seems like a either step it up soon or sit down situation.

This.

With coaches, it seems better to not focus on the literal meaning of their words (“due for a big game”), and to focus more on what they are trying to say.

I think it’s clearly a message to Giles that he needs to step up. We can’t afford to keep wasting snaps when he’s on the field in the hope that he will eventually show something that matches the scouting reports and last year’s display in practice. If he doesn’t show something in this game, not only will his targets decrease, but someone else will be getting his playing time.

Giles is long overdue to ride the pine, he cant make plays

Them forcing him the ball once in that ole miss game on the quick screen pass again proved to me he just cant make a play at this level. He got a block and the guy still ran him down quickly.

Agree. Very slow not physical, don’t see great route running that would overcome speed issues, has several drops which show a lack of concentration. No need to force him the ball when we have 5-6 guys stepping up and making plays.

Yea I just don’t see it. I hope he does but I’d give his reps to real playmakers

Vastly over rated. Hope he will finally arrive or he needs to stay on the pine!

No need to force it to Giles. Jefferson has really stepped up and is Burrow’s go to guy. I With the game on the line I trust Jefferson will deliver.

I absolutely hate bagging on players, but I honestly think we've seen enough of Giles to know his worth as an SEC receiver. We have too much talent in our receiving corps to keep taking snaps and targets away from others in lieu of trying to get him involved.

The confusing thing is, that most of they hype came from when he was playing scout team last year against our defense. Yeah, we could see the numbers he put up at TT, but I certainly didn't have much of an opinion on him just from that. As others have said, it's an air raid offense in a conference with mostly shitty defenses. But the reports on him from scout team last year were that he probably would have been our best play maker on the team.

I agree and I think we started to see this in the Ole Miss game. I didn't see him out there too much.

Saying all that, I think earlier in the year he was doing a good job with punt returns. But for some reason, he seems to be fair catching everything now, even when there's decent room for a return.

I think he might be inside his own head a little bit. Playing a lesser role should help take the pressure off.

Jim Hawthorne absolutely said Jack Hunt caught the Bluegrass Miracle. LSU scrubbed the audio after the fact.

Anyshit, Hawthorne was probably hammered on good Kentucky bourbon.

The backlash wouldn't have been as bad as it's been if the coaching staff hadn't built him up to mythical status.

O said he was uncoverable or something like that and the defensive players laughed. It all makes sense now.
