Ok I'll play. He should already be paid more than Nicky is, why?
I mean, I don't want him fired, but come on...salary should be commensurate with product.
I have no problem with the big raise if he wins it all.

People gripe about the last raise he got and act like he held poor Joe hostage.

I hear ya, but I'm still a bit bitter about the Arkansas thing and that was just for getting to the title game. and then we proceeded to start losing multiple games in November since..
He wins another title, then that's fine if he has some sort of bonus for winning a title.. i'm sure most do.. but I really rather not see him use it as leverage as if he's going to another school.. and want an even more ridiculous contract. I highly doubt Miles is really going to coach any where else at this point.. and that someone would pay him even more than he's already being paid.. and I'm really not sure he would be as successful elsewhere in college football..
but of course he should try to get as much as he can.. and of course we (fans) shouldn't care too much if it means we win a national championship.. i just think he's already paid a ridiculous amount of money and i don't want to see LSU just bow down as if he's really going to go elsewhere.. now if he does it two years in a row.. he can have however much he likes IMO. we haven't won the SEC championship in what 4-5 years.. our bowl record is not so great lately.
one thing you have to understand. Les is a top 10 paid college coach.. however he also has the highest paid coaching staff in all of football.. (at least of 2015) so we are already paying top dollar for those around him.. and have some of the best assistant coaches around. he wins a championship then okay he may deserve a raise.. but there needs to be money to pay those around him and I still prefer to see elite level consistency again before paying him like a Saban.. a guy who has beaten him what 6 straight?
