It’s not that complicated. We are preparing to be good at football, not just running the ball.

Our pass attempts will be up for sure, likely 33 to 40 passes per game, but that’s not bad when if we average 72-82 plays a game.
This will mean that we are not 1 dimensional and can mix up down and distance calls, but we will still pound the rock once our will is being imposed.
Can’t wait to see it!

Am I missing something?

We have been asking to remove defenders from the box to open up the run game. The coach says we may be doing just that, and we act as if we don't understand.

We ain't running the ball physically out of 4 and 5 receiver sets. It's just not possible.

Did anyone notice how tired Bama’s defense was in the second half against Oklahoma and Clemson? They spread it out, forcing Bama’s front 7 to run sideline to sideline. Short, quick throws, medium throws and then deep. It forces them on their heels, then run it. Bama does not have as much depth as people think on defense. If we do this, they will be gassed. Oklahoma and Clemson showed us the way. Plus, Bama’s secondary always overrated.

I didn’t want air raid in the first place. I thought the plan was to be a multiple offense. This is not news.

yep we are going to spread the field, throw the ball to all our talented recievers, and open up lanes for the run game which will be with much physicalness. The plan is to utilize all our weapons on offense and take advantage of our players strengths.

Tyrion Davis and Emory, as well as Curry can run with great physicality out of any formation. Helairies physicality is underated as well. Expect our oline to be much tougher this year as well and can anyone doubt Burrows toughness running the ball. Running the ball physically can come out of a 4 wide shotgun formation just as easily as out of a 2 wr I formation. It's all about attitude and toughness.

Not out of 5 wides.

I get your general points, however.

It's why college football today is dominated by teams that can put up points.

he didn't say anything about not putting up a ton of points. We are going to put up points this season with the talent we have returning and with this scheme.

unless Burrow takes off with the ball or we run some jet sweeps, misdirection, etc. But I get your point, it helps to have a RB in the backfield if you want to be physical and run the ball.

That sounds great. We shouldn't have a weakness.

And if one of those wideouts is a RB and a TE, guess what you can do?

Go hurry up and have a singleback formation with a wing TE and 3 wideouts. PA galore. Mesh concepts galore. RPO galore.

I heard the interview today in BHAM. I think he did a great job with that jackass FINEBAUM. Only thing he is hard to understand by 75% of listeners due to that husky, gravelly voice. But I am proud of the work he has done at LSU and he’ll get Saban just like Smart and Mullen will -!that day is closer for all 3 of them

The mindset of gassing the D is outdated. The object of the game is to score points and a lot of them. A team can still have a dominant D with a quick strike offense. See Clemson and Alabama for examples.

It’s always about Numbers. We can be just as physical 7 on 7 as we can 9vs 9.You don’t help your defense when u consistently go 3 and out.

Why would you write this pathetic unfounded negative BS. LSU talent level especially on the line of scrimmage has been way down the last five years. And no QB until last year. And why exactly does the head coach need to know the technical details. That is why you have an OC. Do you actually know what CEOs do
