"This stretch for us – you know, we’ve had a couple of these where we’ve had tough games. (This is) by far the toughest stretch and starting with this team that is a top – they’re top-15 (team) they say but they’re better than that. This is a top-10 team. In the last five games they’ve been down 10 points four times and they came back and won three of those. They were down 10 points, 14 points with 2:20 to go and came back and won. They were down 16, 18 to Arkansas and lost on a shot that didn’t go in. They win different ways. They beat Auburn on out-of-bounds plays. Can you imagine? They scored like five or six times on out-of-bounds plays. That’s unusual, but that’s what they did. That’s how they – that was the difference in that game.”

Good to see LSU getting such high regard from a coach who has been around for so long.

He's still a dirty, smug POS.

I'd put more stock into what he says than people who vote for the AP poll and probably don't watch very many games.

He’s good at “coach Speak”..........and crying about his “young team” when he basically invented the “One amd Done”.

Don’t care for the guy, but respect him. His teams consistently get better as the year progresses.

Tough to him at Rupp closing in on March. Hoping for a good game.

He’s setting this up for a quality win (if they beat us) or a quality loss (if we win). He’s smart either way and it definitely helps LSU either way. As long as we do not get blown out we will get a lot of respect from his comments before and after the game.

I don't know if you can blame him for the "One and Done" phenomenon in college bball. Sure he may have been the first coach to have popularized the approach but honestly any coach in America who could consistently get five star recruits would obviously take them. It isn't entirely his fault that these guys, who would probably have gone straight to the NBA from HS if they could, end up leaving for the NBA as soon as they're eligible. And it isn't unreasonable that he would continue to recruit other five stars who put pressure on guys who aren't quite ready for the league and who end up pushing these older guys out (a la Quade Green and Ryan Harrow). Coach Cal, like Coach K, is making due with what he can get. Five stars want to play for him so he's gonna take them. However, even with five star recruits it can be difficult to start with essentially an entirely new team every single year.

If he wins, then we’re the ‘92 Blue Devils. If he loses, his whole team had the flu.
It is the way of Calipari.

Well said. Tigers are a 9 point underdog, so this is Coach CYA.

There has never been a coach that liked the sound of his own voice as much as Cal. Networks lose advertising time his halftime interviews w sideline reporters go so long.

Frick him. I remember last year when LSU gave Kentucky a game, he blamed it on all his players having a flu. All he does is make excuses.

When he is talking about LSU winning in different ways and how we beat Auburn that is his nod to Wade’s coaching imo.

Not bad for a coach who can’t draw up plays
