He’d be a fantastic DC here. I don’t care that he’s 37. Detroit is run much like a high level college team. Dan is by far the most “players” coach there is. Head coach? Maybe not yet. But anyone thinking he wouldn’t be great here is retarded.

Or you could just go hire a HC. We are LSU, we are not taking a shot at shite. No other school is hiring a 37 NFL DC as their HC in the SEC. I get having coaches you like but this is not a serious discussion. It’s not happening.
I didn’t say I want it to happen I just said I’d be fine with it. Meaning I won’t lose my shite if it happened.
Kelvin would be pretty far down the list, but I think he’s on there somewhere.

There are a lot of coaches between Kelvin and Saban. So many, I’d be shocked if we hire a 37 year old first year NFL coordinator with zero college experience, lol. I guess we will see

Yeah maybe we could get James Franklin? Or Nick Saban again! We are LSU. I hear Brian Kelly is looking, he’s coached for multiple decades!!!
Too dumb to engage. Why don’t we just hire Honey Badger since having any experience in CFB or as HC apparently don’t matter. I come here to not see Facebook arse takes and sometime you boys are worse. It’s like the damn Saints board with as many people who don’t know ball just throwing names out.

If it works, man it’s a home run, if it doesn’t, nothing hurt, he wouldn’t come expensive.
Entire point is last time, we hired he safest, most well known, experienced coach in the market, stole him away from Notre Dame and it never worked and he shite all over the entire program.

He deserves an interview. Talk to him. Listen to him. I bet he’s got great ideas for this place. Maybe not ready yet, but I want him around the program in general. He’s too good to ignore.

Man, you are just a whiny dude who knows zero ball, go back to Facebook
Posted on 10/26/25 at 11:24 pm to HangmanPage1
You can't really hire a coach from the NFL based on what he does there. It's fake
Posted on 10/26/25 at 11:24 pm to HangmanPage1
It’s a huge risk. I doubt we do it, but we will see. He has literally never coached in college and has no experience with it. This environment with NIL and the portal is brutal. I think you are using your heart here not your mind.

LSU just wasted about 100 million on a guy who had loads of experience and was ready.
Alright so let’s go overboard in the other direction and hire a guy who’s never coached in college

Kelvin isn’t like that Miami weirdo. He’s been here. He understands a ton. He’s smart. He’s called a defense for years at multiple levels. Again, not saying he’s college HC ready. But talking to him would be smart. He could be a great DC right now.

I think he needs more than 4 years of total coaching experience to run a massive college football program. Just my opinion

Like Kelly?
Yeah that’s right!! Brian Kelly didn’t work out! We can’t hire any more head coaches!! No NC coaches available! WE NEED TO HIRE KELVIN SHEPPARD!!!
You are one dumb SOB.

He ready to call College defense right now. That’s one side of the ball. I have no doubt he could recruit. Hire the best OC you can, cause you didn’t break the bank for Shep.
This feels right, feels good man

Good Lord man you can’t even comprehend that I’m ridiculing you for making the “NC coach” part of your criteria to begin with. As if all future national titles will only be won by coaches who have already won one.
No coach available who’s won a natty! OMG!! WE NEED TO HIRE SHEPPARD!!
Wow! You really are stupid aren’t you?

is that all? cool, you get this round and I’ll get the next one

I too am reluctant cuz of his lack of experience, but the Lions have great culture and buy-in. Hopefully he is learning that and could bring it. And with him you are opening the door for getting former players and great leaders like Pat Pete and the honey badger and so many more from around his era who are bound to get involved. Would be a bold hire but it can’t get worse than this lifeless era.

Was Kelly ready?
He was a head coach for 30 years in college.
Sheppard has never been a head coach anywhere.
Unbelievable people want someone with zero experience for the job that's open, especially at a job like LSU.
Even dumber is this nonsensical notion that good player = good coach.

How’d that turn out for LSU

Neither was Marcus Freeman.
Who’s the better coach. You still probably say Kelly huh
