After his flying leap into the end zone he jumps up and clearly spikes the ball. Couldn’t believe it wasn’t flagged. He is the best all around back in the league though!

Refs let it go after 8 straight losses.

I said the same thing, and was promptly told to stfu. That's all we would've needed at that point in the game.

You can spike after a TD. You can't spike if the play is dead in the field of play

Pretty sure you can do that in the endzone. I mean pros do it all the time, multiple times a week. It's when you do it in the middle of the field that they flag you usually.

I was surprised that wasn't flagged at BDS. I held my breath for a bit, but was couldn't help my emotion and I'm glad the refs can see that with the players. It was out of pure emotion and he didn't run to the corner a make a spectacle out of it, and I'm happy the refs let it go. Just like the dances they let them have fun and show emotion in an emotional game. I think the refs have done a much better job this year overall than they have in the past with refs running up to players yelling at them not to celebrate....

No

They don’t let them spike in CFB, anywhere

I thought the same thing watching it live. On the replay, it looked much less menacing.

And there was clearly no intent to taunt.

I saw it too. I could have lived with the penalty. Nothing to see here.

I missed it completely, I guess.

Immediately after that score, the "90s" in me took over and I began doing the Humpty Dance in my living room, and didn't see the TV again until after the commercial break.

I don't think any ref would have the guts to call that- it wasn't taunting, it was just a thrilling moment of emotion from Clyde! What a freaking football warrior!

lol, I noticed and thought same thing.

Thankfully refs were caught up in the momentum and emotion of the moment also. I though I saw one reaching and the umpire was jogging towards him shaking his head.

It looked like Clyde was trying to slam the ball from one hand to the other and missed resulting in a spike to the ground. My thought at the time was the ref saw this and thankfully went with the intent of the action rather than the outcome.

I knew the tide had turned when the ref grabbed the ball and showed CEH how to really spike it. The purple and gold fever is contagious.

False. Just.....so false. Have you EVER seen a college player wing back and really spike thecshit out of the ball? I haven't. Not in many, many, many years watching cfb.

Did everyone also notice the relative lack of penalties such as holding, etc? Also, it is apparently legal to jump across the line early.

Yeah, surprised they did flag him but what was the worst that could happen... push back the PAT or would that be enforced on the KO?
