Yeah frick assholes who change their opinion when they learn additional details. People should just form an opinion and stick with it no matter what!

He alluded to the "true story" but never actually came out and said it beyond passing innuendo.
Every Florida and LSU fan knows Florida took advantage of the hurricane to dodge playing a hot team at a time when they were injured and not playing very well. That's the only reason the game wasn't played last weekend.
IMO, Alleva should have held out and insisted Florida not only pay the buyout for USA but also that the game in BR on the 19th count as a home game for Florida.

While I agree with you, his original tweets were obviously meant to stir stuff up. I mean, that's what he does 90% of the time right or wrong.
Basically, once he was shown that his original tweets didn't even have the facts right, he kind of had to back off.

What really happened
Florida saw the storm as an opportunity to avoid playing because they had injuries across the board and used the SEC's dimwitted president to make it happen.

Need a lot more people more like him then, IMO.

Three hours after that call the forecast changed.
Gainesville was now squarely in the hurricane's path.
Complete bullshite.

LSU would keep their home game, but the SEC would get their make-up game.
So the article completely ignores that LSU gave up a home game

came a major breakthrough: Florida head coach Jim McElwain was the SEC's savior, agreeing to travel to Baton Rouge to play at LSU this season in exchange for the Gators getting the home game back in 2017.

What's more, LSU was so eager to play the game that they also presented the SEC office with an additional option, they could host the game in Baton Rouge, as they'd done last year with South Carolina after severe flooding in Columbia, and play the game on Saturday, Sunday or Monday in Louisiana. LSU officials were so diligent in their preparation that they had hotel rooms reserved for Florida in either Baton Rouge or New Orleans. As a final option designed to ensure as much equality as possible, LSU let it be known that they would play the game with no fans present.
LSU's message to the SEC league office was clear -- we want to play the game this weekend and we'll do whatever we need to do to make that happen. The SEC league office conveyed this same message to the Florida Gators.
UF's game was quite clear, glad it back fired
