the Nick Saban of college baseball. Similar height. Will have similar number of 'ships before Jay is done.

Kim Mulkey took over a program in a sport in which LSU was good but had never come close to winning a championship. She did the same at Baylor. She turned both programs into Champions.
Jay Johnson took over an LSU baseball program that was widely considered the best program in the sport. He got it back on track in impressive fashion. Kelly has impressed so far, but is way far into his career without a national title.
I’d say Mulkey is the run away choice for best. In fact, if all college sports were considered, and Saban was included, Kim Mulkey would be a close second for best active coach. Without Saban, I think there is a solid argument that she is the best. But I have to admit, there could be a coach in some minor sport with a more impressive resume.
