I was at that game and it was classic. We were in his ear hole the whole game.

Can you imagine the virtue signaling and knashing of teeth from the media if an entire stadium did this today????

That whole chant started when FSU visited BR in October of 91 for football. It naturally carried over to basketball for Christian laettner

Old people laugh at STTDB but hate neck because it’s too “urban”

Serious question, do you complain when the students chant STTDB after neck?

No. I think it's kinda funny. I'm pushing 60 but I figure it's about the only time in their lives they can get away with it. Not sorry.

I remember camping out for that game. Dale Brown had bought pizza for all the people camping out, and when the Duke bus arrived and the players got out, it looked like it was raining pizza...everybody throwing pizza at the Duke players. Most amazing thing I saw was that Laetner, when he got off the bus, looked up at us, stuck both middle fingers up, and walked into the stadium with the bird up the whole way. Had a lot more respect for Laetner after that. (And then Grant Hill proceeded to beat the dogshit out of us...)

We yelled at Hank Gathers too, and the poor guy dropped dead a month later. I felt bad about that one.

The Tigers (14-5) had several opportunities to close the gap but missed 10 of 13 free throws in the last six minutes of the game. O'Neal accounted for four of the misses in five attempts. The Obvious Difference
