Why does it matter? The other player is trying to inform people about the injury. What's wrong with that?

Because it would have been an NCAA violation, Jay Scimabra was not allowed to fly home with his son

This is freaking ridiculous. Why can't a father fly home with his seriously injured son? Really NCAA? It's like when Dale Brown was busted/chastised for paying for one of his players to attend their parents funeral.

The NCAA can kiss my arse.

LINK to a video of game highlights on the Auburn sports site. The play occurs in the 7th inning, beginning at about the 3:04 mark. If you really want to see it.

Wow that was scary to watch. Glad its not worse than it could have been. He's pretty lucky that there was no nerve damage and that he'll be able to recover fully. Praying for him for a speedy recovery.

NCAA to dads:

Shop your son around to the highest bidder, as long as he doesn't know about it... okay.

Ride home with your son after he breaks his neck during a game... no chance.

No kidding, that rule is ridiculous....I probably would've just broken that rule if it were my kid.

You could get him declared ineligible if you did that. Just sayin'.

But I completely understand how you feel. If it had been my son, I would have felt the same way.

Maybe....I don't think the NCAA would want any part of the shite storm that would create though
