Wait so you post something two years ago vs 1 year ago and not even whole batting average. Nice

But if Reid is still starting once Josh Smith is healthy, then we have more problems as a team because that means Hughs and Slaughter are still struggling.

Ya we’re in deep shite if the guy that gets on base 52% of the time has to play

Dude, newsflash: Slaughter has never not struggled

Did you not read the quote that I was replying to? He mentioned his batting average in SEC play and how he expected it to drop once SEC play started. Reading comprehension must not be your strong suit.

I think he has once, on Sunday when he was running on contact with 2 outs on a ball that was hit fairly deeply to center field by Watson. There wasn't even a throw to the plate. You know exactly what I meant by that post. He has done it once all season. Every other run he's scored has been from third base or on an extra base hit. No need to argue like my mother... because something has happened before that, generally speaking, it doesn't.

Reid moved to 3rd from 1st on a single in the 9th inning of the Toledo game. Reid scored from 1st on a Hughes double down the RF line in the Hawaii series as well as scored on a single down the line from 2nd in the same game. Reid also scored from 1st on a double by Dup in the Texas series I think game 3. Try again with your great point that Reid is a sitting duck on the base paths.

Weren’t you defending Deichmann even after his freshman year with these same points we are making about slaughter? IIRC you leaned heavily on his potential. And then with his fielding struggles at first, you still leaned on him being a HS SS to defend him. Only slightly hypocritical.

you think we're going to win a lot of games because Reid walks a lot

Slaughter has shown plenty of flashes. Right before he was benched this year he went on a two week stretch hitting around .400 and even when he wasn't getting on base he was hitting the ball hard. We also didn't need Slaughter to play well last year, clearly. Maybe you haven't noticed, but our lineup isn't nearly as good and balanced as it was last year. Our best power hitter playing right now is batting leadoff. We have a guy with no range at third, a struggling freshman at short, and a merry-go-round at first. We have to play a guy with no speed in left out of necessity. So yes, we need guys like Slaughter and Hughs that have a lot of potential to play well if we expect this team to go anywhere.

And I'm glad someone else brought it up, but you are the same guy who trashes on Jarvis Landry and how overrated he is when production says the exact opposite. But you keep doing you

Who wins a weekend series: A team full of Reids or a team full of Slaughters? Same pitcher pitching to both squads.

He was also batting in between Bryce Jordan and Cole Freeman. Reid had about as much protection as you'd ever expect to get for a typical 8 hole hitter.

Who's to say he wont have the same type of protection this year once Smith is healthy?

Lester defending Deichmann during a 3-27 slump

And I was right there with him, saying Deichmann should keep playing. I also have a lineup with Reid in it.

Chris Reid is slow, has no power, and gets made fun of by his head coach for being slow and having no power.

I think Smith is going to slide over to 3rd if he's healthy enough to go this year.

If Slaughter regains playing time it'll be between he and Bryce assuming Hughes and Smith are at SS and 3B respectively.

So he scored on an extra base hit and on a ball that went into the bullpen after it ricocheted off the 3B's glove.

so he scored on another extra base hit

shite I guess Paul should run him more then right? I guess Paul has no idea what he's doing with Reid having zero attempted stolen bases in his career. Reid is a smart base runner but he is slow AF. I don't know why you feel the need to belabor this point

He had one significant RBI in SEC play his freshman year in the 9th vs Arkansas. That’s the only one I found from that year.
