Dude, that is so bad arse. I bet if you met the President, you wouldn't even shake his hand. Man, some folks just won't take no shite from nobody.

Who said I was trying to be bad-arse?

He made his point, I chose to make mine.

Was he a great paler...of course.

But I have a big issue with someone turning their back on their country.

Oh, and I would shake Obama's hand...even though I don't agree with the majority of his policies, I still respect the office that he holds.

Shaq was not half the skills player Jackson was in college.

Shaq had a massive body with good big man skills and no medium shot and no free throw.

Hack a Shaq killed him.

Jackson at times was unstoppable from any part of the court.

Yes Shaq at times was also unstoppable but that had more to do with his size than his skill.

And yes Jackson was a douche once he hit the pros. He paid for it by having his house burned down.

Hack-a-Shaq has been going on since at least 2001, and the Lakers were in the midst of a three-peat then. Hack-a-Shaq didn't kill Shaq. Being 36 killed Shaq.

I was hoping they had the play were he faked the behind the back pass on the break then laid it in...CJ had an uncanny ability of changing his shot on a drive while both him and the defender were off the ground. Get the guy in the air then make the move based on the defender...

I got two things from that video:

1) Those are full, rowdy crowds

2) We had games aired on TigerVision!

How shitty is it now that we can have the SEC champs playing a pivotal game and people are at a meaningless baseball game down the road instead?

The PMAC was full vs. Vandy...at least if it wasn't, it was damn close. It took a little while to get there, but people got there...parking was a bitch.

Did CJ/MAR come back for the ceremony last month? I thought someone said he didn't come back. Are their bridges burned because of some of his antics post-LSU?

I stand by my statement (though I'm not really going out on a limb) that he had the best freshman year in the history of college basketball.

AlaTiger, thanks for starting this thread. I hadn't seen that footage since I saw it on the tube. It brought back great memories.

If you totally discount defense and hustle you might be correct. Shaq was the best defensive game-changer as a teenager that I've ever seen. Remember that most of his LSU career took place before his 20th birthday and that makes his stats even more amazing. It's apples and oranges really to compare players at different positions however for arguments sake:
Better overall offensive skills CJ
Better overall defensive skills Shaq
Better ballhandler CJ
Better rebounder Shaq
Better passer Even
Better team player Even
Better athlete Even
Beter hustler Even
Better ability to take over a game Even
Better PR for the college game & LSU Shaq
And that's due strictly to him stalling
entry to the Association longer than CJ, the latters health concerns notwithstanding.
Really too close to call IMPO but defensive skills and the ability to dominate a game keep Shaq in the conversation. And oh by the way, the Pistol will always be the greatest Tiger IMO.
