The family received certified mail last week which indicated that Garrett's scholarship would not be renewed. However, it is standard procedure at many universities that players receive letters indicating that their scholarship is not going to be renewed.
Hey, Prominetwon, this is the coach you take up for. The most important position on a football team.....and the idiot cuts one of them.
Hey Miles......GOOD frickING MOVE!!!!

Les and Gary been reading the Rant and seen how upset everybody was when Zach Oliver commited to Northwestern so they decided to cut CG and go after Oliver instead.

I have never been one to go over the top in criticizing the coaching staff. Until now.
If Chris Garrett leaving isn't a clear indication that the program isn't where we want it to be, then I don't know what else would be.
I'm very concerned right now.

Why do you assume that CG was the answer at QB? The staff obviously felt otherwise. Can you tell me why you have a more informed opinion?

I think its a given he'll be on campus this fall.
I think whether or not he even plays baseball is based on his progress at QB

either way its a negative on the staff....if he was good enough, then wtf? if he wasn't, then our qb recruiting evaluations suck

his literally makes 0 fricking sense. I don't get it
It make sense if you are a quarterback that thinks he can play NCAA football and wants to show it.
Maybe he has heard of Matt Flynn and a seventh round pick does not appeal to him.

our QB evaluations do truly suck

Why do you assume that he wasn't. Last time I checked LSU doesn't have a good QB. Chris Garrett can't be much worse than Jefferson and J. Lee. Cutting a QB is not a good thing to do for Les right now....no matter how you look at it.

I'd think he's going to play baseball no matter what, how much he might play could come into question with spring drills and what not.

It doesn't matter at this point if CG was the answer or not. The real question you or anyone else should be asking is, who do we have to start at QB in 2012? And who would back him up?
IF CG wasn't the answer, then what was he doing here in a Tiger uniform in the first place?

i really wish it was like the old days where he could just sign with an MLB team and play in the offseason with them knowing he was committed to FB until he graduated

from all indications, this was an attitude issue. You usually discover that once they are on campus.
Do you want a guy leading the LSU football team who was content in letting Jefferson and Lee run out their eligibility before he played?

Ok, after about 3 pages...I had to stop reading...my eyes are bugging out and all this shite gives me a headache.
The Def-con levels here have gone waaaaaaay off the chart. And speculation is at an all-time high when no one knows what the frick happened!
How about getting the FACTS first instead of just deciding to take a Heath Ledger cocktail to end it all.
I'm sure Garrett was pretty decent or he wouldn't have received a scholarship in the first place. We have 2 QB's right now that give us at least a couple of years and we can still land a QB in this upcoming class.
I'm sure I'll get plastered for this but I like JL, despite all the picks. I do feel that ZL will be here and rock the house but I don't think he's the second coming either.
We get a decent QB in this upcoming class and we'll be just fine.

You have a history of just waiting for a thread that is anti-miles so that you can join in on the bashing. How do you know that Garrett simply didn't have the desire or will to compete anymore, was being outplayed by BB, and the coaches saw this? Say what you want, but if it REALLY was this way, which many have said, then i do not blame miles. It sounds like CG just wanted to be let go. His heart wasn't in it.
