This would be potentially the most damaging IMO.
Hope it doesn't happen. He needs a year.

He is a bigger fool than Simon if he does. First round talent but will go in round three or four due to uncertainty about the injury.

Simon must have been high again to declare....

Disagree with this one. The difference between being an early round pick is millions of dollars. Staying an extra year for a few more million bucks is worth it
Not if you get hurt or have a sub par year.

Simon has family reasons for declaring.

O great, why dont we just end this already, every "eligible" player has declared to enter draft. Before you know it mettenberger is gonna declare. I give up, Les Miles do you want to go to nfl too?

in this year's deep OT draft he's maybe a 4th rder.
Andrew Datko went from potential 1st round pick to 7th rounder because of a shoulder injury. NFL coaches don't gamble much on injured OT's, unless they come back

This would be the first announcement I'd truly be pissed at. Faulk needs to come back and show that he's healthy. He can raise his stock by millions just by playing next season. Rediculous if he leaves.

Why are we having so many leaving early? Many more that other "succesful" SEC teams. Its certainly not that LSU has that much more NFL caliber talent. Getting pretty ridiculous with the Faulk rumors..

The new CBA makes it less beneficial to stay and try to "improve" your stock. The days of the Jamarcus type guarantee deals are over. Everything is salary slotted and scaled and the risk reward of moving up has been significantly diminished. The best thing a kid can do is get the clock started as soon as possible on their second contract. If you figure the average NFL player has 5 years, why would you waste a year not getting paid?
Also, this group of juniors has had an unbelievable two-year run. You could just tell they had given everything they had to LSU and it is time for the guard to change over.
This is the new reality. That's why we are starting to see so many kids play as freshman. You recruit great players, play them for 3 years our of high-school and they are gone. It is what it is. Get use to it.

Because almost all of their friends are going to the pros. In a way it's social pressure to keep up. Most great players have the 3 and done mentality. I agree with most who leave early. But I do think Faulk should come back.

Leaping leptons, fricking THIS. Everybody else leaving I could see but I was 99% sure that Faulk was staying and would make our OL a road grater but now IDK. he was considered first round coming into the season and possibly be that coming back and having a good year.

For reference, last year the 50th player drafted signed for $4 million over 5 years and the last person drafted at 253rd signed for $2.1 million over 5 years. So the difference between a middle 2nd round guy and a 7th round guy is $380K a year for 5 years. After taxes, that is about $228K a year. Seems to me like most of these guys are getting good advice. The risk of injury is no longer worth the reward of moving up even from the 7th round to the 2nd round.

I think Faulk has potential to play himself into the first round. I highly doubt that would happen right now.

this would be such a bad move for faulk.
if he came back, he could maybe be a 1st rounder

well there is always iron man football. At this rate we will have to play both ways.

Alfred Morris was a 6th round pick and he makes 450K less per year than Isiah Pead. In total Pead will make about 2 million more from his contract.
2 million dollars isn't chump change at all. That's a huge difference. If Dworacyck could come back and have a good year(honorable mention All-SEC) so can Faulk. These days the majority of players come back from injuries.
