Faulk was going to be a first round pick after this season if he had stayed healthy. Someone has to be telling him he's going to be taken higher than we all believe he will.

Yeah but most of us are thinking he'd go first round based on last year and a good year next year. Hell if Dwyorzack can get an honorable mention for his shitty performance, then Ieam All-SEC because the great tackles are all declaring.

Simon and Ware probably need to leave because they're out of weed money, weren't they suspended with Tyrann last year?

I admit that I'm jealous of the other SEC teams with some of their big name players returning.
Players on that level think if im going to bust my but then I need to get paid, because this coach sure wont put my team in position to win a championship.

No doubt Faulk looked at Stud's history and realized all his top lineman regressed as their career went on. You can't fault a guy not wanting to fall in that mess.

I just want to cry, throw a phone like in that GIF, or something.... this is getting bad.
Unprecedented the amount of talent will are/ might be loosing. And the majority of the backups will be Freshmen or at least very young.
Hope the team can add that many new faces and still stay competitive.

This guy has been injured so much and he may be like Black and not taken in the Draft.

so much? outside of the knee injury, I thought all he ever had was a minor injury last yr, and he didn't miss a game because of it.

A program that creates this many NFL prospects has a very bright future.
Just not an immediate bright future. You can't lose this many quality players and not have it hurt in the short term.
FWIW, Faulk will not get paid this year. He has only one year of quality play. NFL teams will not spend high draft choices on guys with that little experience, particularly coming off an injury. He will get drafted but the money beyond second round is not a future.

IF he is even considering it, it would be a big mistake. He would likely be an early 3rd rounder versus top 20.
Lets all calm down for a minute.

Charles, you need to use your former OL connections to reach out to him and talk some sense. bring in Mawae if you got to.

Chris Faulk now considering leaving for NFL...

Done deal, he and KeKe bought $85K Audi's on Saturday!

Sorry I don't think he even goes in the third round. Possible someone drafts him in 4th at the highest, but likely 5th or 6th. He doesn't have much film from this year at all, and teams will wait till later rounds to draft him(due to injury) which could make him a steal in later rounds(1st round potential and ability in 5th round). Other reason he falls in draft is because he is only approximately 5-6 months from the injury and won't be at his best for combine setting, pro day setting, or private workouts. Regardless of the team record next year, if he plays well and is healthy, he will likely be a first round pick, 2nd round at absolute worst. Think he is doing himself a disservice if he leaves early.

Getting drafted and a 5yr deal gets you 2.7 million minimum this year. Yes I think he would help LSU tremendously but this is about Faulk as well....
Posted on 1/7/13 at 9:28 am to cliffset21
there goes almost half of first years minimum (after taxes) UP IN SMOKE...

For reference, last year the 50th player drafted signed for $4 million over 5 years and the last person drafted at 253rd signed for $2.1 million over 5 years. So the difference between a middle 2nd round guy and a 7th round guy is $380K a year for 5 years. After taxes, that is about $228K a year. Seems to me like most of these guys are getting good advice. The risk of injury is no longer worth the reward of moving up even from the 7th round to the 2nd round.
Is there an article or link to this? I find this very interesting.
