Didn't he leave Florida recently?

The people you talked with are not very well informed.

Maybe my ignorance hurt my understanding of the system. I'm not too big to admit that.

But believe me, they are more infomed than any poster on this site. Board of Regions member, athletic fundraiser, and a TAF board member.. I'd say all three are connected. And all three are concerned with the budget cuts, in addition to the TAF's commitment to future projects. Especially in the case of a buyout.

Baloo, I agree that its LSU's discretion, but he wasn't going to get that raise two weeks ago. Why is he all of a sudden worth it now when UGA comes calling?

Supply and demand. Look, you try not to pay as much for something as you can, whether that is a good or an employee. He was "worth" it before UGa came calling, but there was no market forces making LSU pay him that much. Once the market force came to bear, LSU had to decide if he was "worth" that much.

Apparently, they think so. You don't get to set the value of things on your own, market forces do that. Invisible hand and all that.

Holy frick, the LSU administration is run by a bunch of fricking goons...

So after one season, they give him a 33% raise?

Should have let the un-loyal fricker go.

(And please don't make it worse by saying you meant "Board of Regents member." That is not correct either.....

Sorry a-hole. Like I stated in a previous text. I'm on an iPhone. Heard of Autocorrection? And I have a profession that allowed me to have start drinking at noon. I apologize for the error. I really don't feel like I have to prove anything to you.

So "Board of Supervisors" auto-corrected to "Board of Regions"? That's messed up.

Wow you really are trying hard to loud cap me. Nice try.

I meant Board Of Regents. Not of Directors.

Believe me I wish I knew a BOA....

I guess you don't realize BOR are very connected as well.

You have just proven to me that drinking and facts and figures don't mesh well. Sober up and try again.

Way too much sense for the Rant lol.

I totally agree. The raise we gave the Chief will look cheap as opposed to being in the midst of the bidding war UF, UGA, TAMU and others will be in for a top flight DC.

I can't believe people are actually mad that we kept chavis. Lunacy at it's best.

Ok. Lets say we did not want to pay chavis the 600k to stay and he goes to Georgia.

Lsu meanwhile take's 500k to find a replacment. Who ya going to get? Tell me excactly who is banging down the door of the athletic department to get a job as DC? Right before a bowl and in the tail end of recruiting season.

AND

How many of those guys turned us down last year?? We got chavis, which is a very good and proven coordinator in the sec.

Seriously, the coaching carousel on both sides of the ball have got to stop. I guarantee you if chavis goes to georgia it would cost us more then 150k in the long run. We need some damn continuity. A new DC comes in and the players have to learn a WHOLE new system AGAIN!! How many systems will the currnet players have to learn? Pelini, mallory/peveto, chavis and the new guy?? And yeah, the new guys comes and the new D will growing pains again NEXT year.

How bad would that look if georgia stole our coach?

frickING MORONS ON HERE. If he left IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD.

i swear people think muschamp is banging down the door to come here.

Since 1998, only one John Chavis coached defense has allowed more than 20 points per game.

Yeah, that's weak /sarcasm.

Awesome that we can afford to pay him such more with the school's massive budget cuts.

your right. We should have sent him packing to Georgia, so we can go out and get a DC on the cheap.

That way we can save a quater mil, and since no one will go to the games and support a losing team, maybe i can finally score some decent tickets cheap!!!! And while i am at it, since no one will go to the games, guess what? More budget cuts!! GENIOUS!!

I LOVE IT!!!

I mean the best coaches are just DYING TO COACH FOR LES!!!!! (pun intended)
