Yes, it blows my mind that he will be putting some guys in positions that he's never seen them play before.

That isn’t what he said though. He said he wants to work some guys out, presumably in the spots they haven’t been practicing in lately, before locking in the new lineup.

It blows your mind that he’s going to have some guys practice at different positions before locking in the lineup for tomorrow’s game?
What guy is moving positions and getting work elsewhere? Arnold has been at SS and Thompson at 3B before last week. So he's looking at something different? Why? Was that not a good group with Doughty at 2B.
And I don't think this needs another thread but PM is blaming yesterday's loss on...
Doughty!

I feel like y’all want to stretch everything he says just to find a reason to complain.
It could be as simple as he wants to see Cranford and Doughty turn two a few times before penciling Cranford in at SS for tomorrow. Who knows? But there is plenty to complain about without resorting to “my mind is blown because the coach is going to get a look at a potential lineup in practice before locking it in.”

I know This is a dumb question:
But can Morgan play 3rd base?
Has he only ever. Played 1st?

Exactly. The only thing we really hadn't seen yet is Dugas in the infield, but that would push Arnold, Thompson, or Doughty out. Or, maybe he's trying Doughty out at SS...but that's not what he said.

In all honesty, it's likely looking at combinations if Doughty isn't good to go. I'd leave Thompson alone. The more he plays the more comfortable and better he will get there. Arnold at SS and then either Safford or Cranford at 2B. I could see Dugas there too and that would explain the tweet the most since Safford has been getting work at 2B and so has Cranford to some extent.

Cranford and Doughty started at SS and 2B last year.

I assume you meant isnt* in terms of Doughty?
I’d agree with you but I don’t understand why Arnold was playing 2b with Bianco at SS so..

I think it would be Thompson out in this scenario. Doughty is your second best hitter on the team and Arnold is a really good hitter. I would like to see if Thompson can build off this last weekend but he has a lot of swing and Miss and the homeruns have really covered up for his struggles at the plate.

Doughty!
He just said he thought the weekend might have gone differently if Doughty had not been hurt and he was looking forward to getting Cade back in the lineup this week.

quote:Yep. I edited. And I'm 100% with you. No idea why Arnold was moved to 2B if he was your SS before and after Doughty returns. PM doesn't seem to want him in the lineup at all much less at SS. It's so fricking odd.

No, he didn't.
The joke is that instead of seeing what went wrong with the lineup and players he had available, he was blaming things out of his control again.

Someone posted a theory that he could be playing through an injury which would make some sense
