k? That's unrelated to everyone always acting like the Rant is the only site on the internet. Go to any other big program's site. It'll be the same.
Not really.

Some 13 year old doesn't like what's being said about players. I'm shocked.

Remember the game where he beat MSU by himself? Dude is awesome.

One of my favorite games I've been to. Chad Jones was phenomenal. I'm all for the Saints giving him a shot.

It'll be the same for any team that is worth a damn and worth worrying about regarding recruiting.

People defending the rant are basically defending their right to anonymously shite all over the people/program that they're supposed to "love", or at least be fans of. The negativity on here at times can be suffocating, and I can't see any way that it wouldn't have its effects on those with a real stake (coaches, players, recruits) in this.

So can blind unquestioning loyalty to one man.

It's the offseason, and personally, I don't see the harm in discussing (preferably in a civil manner) the shortcomings of our previous year and how we could or should improve.

I love dreadlocks of doom. Even calling out the rant, he does it in a classy way. Could have easily called this place out for being a bunch of spoiled, couch-coaching idiots. Still took the high road.

We both know that doesn't happen.

The civil criticism isn't what he's referring to. That's the problem. When people call someone out for calling the head coach names, they immediately resort to "sorry I'm realistic", "sorry I don't blindly follow a coach", "sorry for not settling for Mediocracy". It that's all they were doing then fine.

People try to justify one extreme with another. I criticize the coaches and team at times but I do it without insults or slander. There's a difference.

Oh, I know.

That being said, every team's (that matters) board melts down after a loss.

It's just more fun when it's some other team.

I used to visit other college team sites a fair amount. Haven't really in the last couple of years but at that time most of the sites I went to simply wouldn't allow a lot of what goes on here. Not acting like I am innocent because I "rant" as well. The only way to stop it is for mods to delete like crazy until it is understood what is allowed and what isn't. Now for the pro sites: Holy crap you can't go on one of those and tell which team is any good or not simply based on the posts.

It's no secret the players read this site a lot. DMitch posted several times that Rueben Randle read it a bunch and laughed at the pics on the fark board, and that him and many other players browsed the Rant. They are 18-21 year old kids, of course they are curious to read what people are saying about them.

And from Randle's tweets this year, it seems like he would fit right on in

It's posts like that ... that make it impossible and highly unlikely to have civil conversation.

Because the typical response to a post like that in a post-loss discussion would be: "Hey (pumper) ... how'd you find enough time to get off CLM's nuts and post?"
