Place it in a large foil pan, cover and bake in a 275 degree oven until you get the desired tenderness. I like this method because it produces great gravy.

I agree. Cover the pan tightly with foil and put it in over until the desired tenderness. I will be perfect!

Not sure yet. I was going to go to Off the Hook and select the fish based on a recipe I got from here. I grill all the time but have never done fish.

Dales will give you the runs....try sprinkling worchestire sauce over the steaks and then rubbing in salt and pepper. let the steaks sit out at room temp 4-6 hours before grilling.

Chicago recommendations?

I will be in Chicago next week for work. My wife is going with me. We are staying downtown by Navy Pier. Does anyone have any good restaurant recommendations? Thanks!

City Cafe

Posted by Trentster on 7/28/09 at 8:39 pm
Went to City Cafe tonight for all you can eat boiled shrimp and crabs. I ordered the shrimp and my wife ordered the crabs. Each was $18.99. The waitress came out and told my wife that they were running out of boiled crabs but she could bring her 6 crabs for $13.99. When the waitress brought out my shrimp there were only about 10 shrimp on the plate and 1 ear of corn and 1 potato. The shrimp were over cooked and hard to peel. After i finished my 10 shrimp I had to wait for a plate of about 10 more this time no corn and potato. I asked for more potatoes and the waitress said she would have to charge me $1.00 for every two potatoes. I spoke to the manager who said that was their policy but brought us out two potatoes for free. I am usually a big fan of City Cafe but I will not be eating the all you can eat shrimp anymore. Bad service, bad shrimp, bad experience.
Check out Stinky's Bait Shop on Old 30A. Awesome food and atmosphere.

I like both places but they are not on the same level. GW Fins is upscale like Brennans etc. While Deanies is Ralph and Kacoo.

Camille's Port Allen

Stopped at Camille's on 190 last night on our way back from Mamou. We were going to stop at Joe Dryefus but were told it was closed so we opted for Camille's. Food was A+++ but service was slow. My daughter order fried crawfish tails but when they brought it out it was fried crab claws. The waitress said they were out of crawfish tails so they substituted crab fingers. They could have asked...overall food A++ service D. The food was good enough that I would go back.

I shop at Ralphs all the time and have never once had bad service. The butchers in the meat department are the best in town!
