Well, I don't have a link regarding alcohol, but I'm just taking the word of someone who would know at the hospital. Anyway, the most important thing right now is that Chad is in surgery and needs our prayers.

Anytime there's an accident at 5:00 am unless you work shift jobs, or are a trucker/route driver, it's usually alcohol related. Nothing good comes from being out driving at that time in the morning unless you're working and on the clock.
This is either alcohol, he was getting a hummber from a chick in the car, both, or he was driving like an idiot while sober. No matter how bad of a driver you are, you don't have one car accidents of that magnitude, not weather related, etc unless something is amiss.
Man, I feel bad for the dude and all of the other one's that have been named in these multiple pages (Caston, Miley, etc). Maybe all of the professional sports organizations need to defer most of that signing money and annual salary until a dude matures and actually still has to work towards getting that money beyond when they sign the contract. When you've never had much, and then get alot, this is what happens.
I believe his father said he had just gotten home from New York before the crash. So maybe an early flight arrival?

Jones' leg is described as "severely damaged," and amputation still hasn't been ruled out depending on the healing process after Friday's surgery. Jones' life is not in danger, but his football future is. "We are praying for Chad and his family," LSU coach Les Miles tweeted. "Keep him in your prayers."

AFR updates
-Toxicology will be done to see if alcohol was a factor
-Reportedly took 20 minutes to get Chad out
-Rahim Alem is refusing to comment
ETA: No surprise on the Alem front and I vote that we should let the guy be, sure he's more worried about Chad then commenting here and there right now

could be a lack of sleep issue if he was arriving early in the morning from a flight then he may have fell asleep at the wheel. sleeping at the wheel cause as worse as an accident as driving drunk would.
but i don't want to get anything that may not be right circulating so i will comment no more

Minor injuries and not taken to the hospital according to all the news reports I've read.

After Further Review (with Matt Moscona) on ESPN Radio in Baton Rouge.
He just did an update, not sure if he'll do another any time soon. But if you are interested 1045espn.com is the place to go
