You make a good point about the higher seeds losing. I’m not sure how feasible getting rid of conference championship games would be just because conferences have gotten so big that you’re not playing every team in the league and some teams play candy arse schedules vs others who have to run the gauntlet

G5 is like letting the AAA minor league baseball champs in the MLB playoffs.

We'd be seeing fifth place teams who lost 3 or 4 games. Wouldn't be much better. Probably even more boring.
Texas, ND, Vandy, BYU were your immediate options this year. You know damn well what you say is a lie.

The problem isn't the number of teams. The problem is the level of the teams. It should be no G6 teams.

G6 teams need their own playoff system.

12 teams is more money, but even more money if you eliminate G5 teams and add teams like Texas, Notre Dame, Vandy, Michigan, etc.

12 is the more money bit, not the G5 teams.

Texas and Notre Dame should have filled these spots and would have been much better games to watch.

SEC, BIG10, ACC, and BIG12 should have a playoff. Everyone else can piss off.

And I agreed, just Boosie was saying it wasn't G5s for more money, at least I think that was what he was trying to say.

They need to abandon the auto bid scenarios. Just strictly go by rankings, and this looks a lot better. Neither JMU nor Tulane gets in with that scenario.

I agree with you. I don’t think you need 12 teams to determine a legit national champion. Take the top 8 and screw the rest. It’s a waste of time. No reason to crown the “what ifs”. Tulane and JMU would’ve been better off playing for a bowl game against a team that is on the same level w them.

you are out of your mind if you think Texas or Notre Dame, or even Vandy wouldn't give these guys all they want. Those teams would be 15 to 20 point favorites over both. Texas would be favored over OM......and very close against Oregon. Look at what 7 seed A&M got today...they got Miami....6 seed OM got Tulane. Miami is MUCH better.

If I were Vandy I'd be pissed that OU got in at 10-2...but Vandy was shut out. You take Texas for example...I hate them, but they have a legit defense and are getting better offensively. They are loaded with talent....they could easily win some games....and definitely destroy the bums that played today in Tulane and JM.
