That's fair.

It was a consensus among fans and assistant coaches that burrow was the best qb at osu. meyer didn't start him because meyer is biased
Lol, no it wasn't. I think Burrow is going to be great, but because you read some stuff OSU fans online said, does not make it a consensus. A lot of those guys wanting Burrow to start are the same ones that hated Barrett, who detroyed Big 10 record books, because he couldn't bring them a title.

They lost to 13-2 UGA and 7-6 UK from the east. We beat 4-7 UF and 4-8 UT.
Yep, they also lost to Auburn 10-49, who LSU beat.
Just trying to provide some context to your post about their 4-4 SEC record vs. our 6-3 record. If they play our schedule they go at least 6-2 in conference play.

One of their losses also came against Ole Miss.
I bet they probably feel the same about our loss to Troy........only we didn't lose our QB during that game.
To pretend like we were a better team than them last year is silly. Will we be better than them this year? Idk. They have an unproven coach.

I think it is a fair assessment. Until Burrow starts a game for LSU, nobody really knows how good he will be.

We should not be in front of Moo State, sorry guys.
I believe that too. Mississippi St is bringing back 18 starters and at least 2 of their defenders will go in the top rounds of next year's draft (those two DL beat anything on DL we have statistically at this point).
Nick Fitzgerald returns, as well as their 1100 yard rusher and every other rusher.
Seven of their top nine pass catchers return, 5 with at least 16 catches.
They now bring in a HC whose QB at Penn St averaged 4000 yards and 37 TDs over the last 2 years.
Mississippi St had the 10th ranked total defense, LSU had the 12th. State had the 26th ranked scoring defense, LSU came in 14th.
Mississippi St destroyed LSU by 30 points last year, and finished with the same record.
LSU loses their top 3 rushers, their top three pass catchers, their multi year starting experienced QB. We also lose 4 of our top 5 in sacks and TFL. LSU brings back the least production of any SEC team, and one of the worst in the entire country (only two power 5 teams are worse).
Using all of this info, only bias (and I don't just mean being a homer), would put us over Mississippi St before the season. People keep shouting, talent, talent, but that didn't work out the last couple of years with Miles, and it ain't working for O either.

LSU should be below Miss St and it's debatable on if they are over South Carolina. USCe is poised to have their best season since 2013.
Everything else is right except I think he's selling Burrow short.

That loss had far more to do with our team not being motivated and not playing as a solid unit than it did how good of a team State had.
Nice not having to read a post about how the loss was due to lack of talent inherited from the previous staff Orgeron was head recruter for.
The loss was on the coach who's calling card reads greatest rah, rah, motivator.

LSU may not have lost a QB but they did:
"Depth is a lingering issue for the Tigers this season. At one point during LSU's loss at Mississippi State, Orgeron had four defensive linemen available for three D-line positions. The depth problems are preventing a deep rotation or any rotation at all."
"Earlier this season, defensive end Christian LaCouture played every snap of a game. Starting defensive end Rashard Lawrence missed three of the first five games with an ankle injury, and a broken finger prevented Alexander from playing in two games.
Frank Herron missed the first six games of the year because of a presumed half-season suspension. He returned last week against Auburn,"
"two defensive linemen are ineligible: freshman nose tackle Tyler Shelvin (academic redshirt) and transfer Breiden Fehoko (transfer rules)."
defensive end Christian LaCouture played every snap of a game
Sept 20th article - MS St game was Sept 16th.
"Two important member of the defense, senior linebacker Donnie Alexander and freshman defensive end Neil Farrell were ejected for targeting penalties within the opening minutes of the second half"
"With those half-game suspensions and the injuries of sophomore defensive end Rashard Lawrence and sophomore nose tackle Ed Alexander, Orgeron has to rearrange a thinning defensive line."
"“Rashard Lawrence may play this week. If he does, we can back up Greg with Glen Logan, who played 56 plays " - Ms St ran 71 plays and Logan played 56
LSU coach Ed Orgeron addresses thinning defensive line depth, moving forward from penalties
I don't disagree that our lack of depth up front due to injuries, suspensions, and ejections had something to do with State rushing for 280 yards, but I don't think the result is any different had we not been injured, and I certainly don't think the result is different based on one play.

They’re spot on.
Depending on how well the offense plays, we could be higher. How high? We’ll find out.

The LSU HC was "head recruiter" for 2 1/2 weeks of the 2016 signing class. Frank Wilson was hired by UTSA in January. Signing day is the 1st Wednesday of February every year.
A "head recruiter" does not determine how many of which position is signed.
The LSU HC was the "head recruiter" for the 2017 class even though Dameyune Craig held the title. Every player that was signed, besides the Virginia Oline who quit football, redshirt - Narcisse, and ineligible - Shelvin played last season.

At what point in the game was that Ree? In the third quarter when we were already down by 20 perhaps?

Never in the history of football has a coach had to deal with such adversity. I honestly don’t know how we avoided the forfeit
And you know what helps a thin defensive line? Not going 3 for 13 on third downs like our offense did that night which kept our defense on the field.
No matter how long you keep bringing up the depth issues, others will continue to point out that we were not playing Alabama that night. We weren’t even playing the mighty Troy team you love to tout winning 11 games.
We were playing a team that went 4-4 in the SEC, lost by 30+ in consecutive weeks after they beat us by 30, against a coach that was 1-7 against LSU until last year’s showing by Orgeron in his first SEC game as the full time head coach of LSU.
quote:Your thing to brag about beating state?
We'll beat State this year...book it.
Fuch that, we’re better than that.
We better not lose to State 2 years in a row. Especially considering they beat our arse by 30 last year and the game is in BR.
