I'm fully expecting to lose to Clemson. Brian Kelly has done a terrible job getting us ready for week 1 every year he's been here

Good for Clemson. I’d rather LSU not be number one going into the season because that usually never holds true throughout. Only exception might’ve been Alabama at some point in time and maybe Georgia a few years ago. But this Clemson team is neither one of those.

has he?, i mean i guess Alabama his first year was a good win, what else though

The way you idiots cling on to every single tiny detail makes every game LSU plays in every sport a ‘good win’

Bama at#4 is worse than Clemson at #1

No question.

He has Alabama ranked ahead of LSU. Alabama's (likely) starting QB has never thrown a TD pass in 3 seasons....let alone started a game. LSU has the top returning QB in the conference, and one of the top returning QBs in the nation (in terms of production). That means one would have to think Alabama's roster, overall, is significantly better than LSU's to overcome the clear disparity at the QB spot.

I would understand Georgia being that high because Kirby has earned the benefit of the doubt. Deboer came in an immediately led Alabama to its worst reg season record in nearly two decades. That's quite a lot of deference being shown to an HC who hasn't done all that much in the SEC

Sounds like youre terrified of actual competition. LSU losing can still easily make playoffs.

I'm almost always a proponent of big early season games, but it's a track record that BK doesn't have his teams ready for week 1. If that's the case, then don't schedule a slugfest or schedule a week 0 game.

So you prefer to play rent a wins instead, which accomplishes jack shite.

That's not completely true. It lessens the risk of a loss...which would keep LSU's margin for error to reach the CFP higher. Last year 3 SEC teams went 9-3 and didn't reach the CFP. And only 1 (Texas) of 16 SEC teams had fewer than 2 conference losses. If LSU loses to Clemson they will likely be walking a tight margin for error the rest of the season given there seems to be no certainty a 9-3 SEC team gets into the CFP. That means LSU would have to go 7-1 in the SEC to feel comfortable about getting in.

Last year Indiana played a horrible schedule. SMU's wasn't all that much better. Both would have been TD+ underdogs vs Alabama and Ole Miss (maybe even South Carolina). Ultimately, the SOS had very little impact. Both got in simply because they had better records than the SEC teams...even though they didn't have to play as tough of competition.

From a fan/entertainment standpoint I'd MUCH rather see LSU play Clemson. But from a competitive standpoint relative to reaching the CFP, the risk of a loss seems to FAR outweigh the benefit of a win.

So would everyone else which is why its important to play these games.

Recruits arent coming to LSU to play rent a wins. They come for the exposure and the opportunity to play on the next level.

Dabo hasn't done shite since 2019...the game passed him by...thankfully for him he is in the acc. .second most championships don't mean shite when one of the ones winning them all retired last year....miles would be there too so that's not a gotcha like you think. In addition a guy predicted 6 to the first round a year in advance. Get back to me next April....I promise you Clemson isn't getting 20% of the first round. Idiot

I don’t want anybody to pick us in the opener. I don’t even wanna be ranked in the top 10.

I don't get the hype for Clemson. That is a program that was successful because of it's assistants, just like what happened here under Orgeron, and since those guys left, Clemson has been nothing close to what they were. Why should anyone believe this year will be any different?

These mock drafts talking about supposedly 6 first rounders seems ridiculous. I saw that team play last year, and I'd just like to know what they saw that brings them to that conclusion.

I enjoyed and followed Pate that summer before the first FSU game. And followed all the LSU podcasts.

Pate was really high on LSU that year. Then the game happened.

As long as Kelly is the coach, I'm not wasting my time on any CFB content except for the game itself. I guess you can say I've lost my enthusiasm for the game. Thank God for LSU Baseball.

Good, let Clemson bask in its own glory all offseason and feel themselves. I hope no one even mentions us.

Pretty sure they will, we are in his top 5.

WTF is wrong with LSU fans ,do you really believe BK had more talent than that Fla St team that won 12 games that year or all of the other teams they have played and lost to.You CLOWNS need to go look at Nicks record his 1st 3 years at LSU and go read the posts about wanting him gone after 3 years. If any of you were talent scouts you would have been fired because yall are clueless!!
