LSU vs. Bama
Does ABC have the option to pick this game up?

They are not allowed to move it to night...the current contract only allows one night game on CBS.

How about the fact that anyone that watches college football knew Bama was going to skull-frick Florida
The line on the game was 4, clearly most people did not "know" it was going to be a beat down.

Or did your network programing experience tell you that Bama/UF was going to be better than Bama/LSU?
I have no network programing expirience and neither do you. I do know they decide which game to put in prime time BEFORE the season starts. a 1 v 2 match up on 11/5 was no guarentee going in.

So why your confusion as to why someone else would be questioning the genius of taking the UF/BAma game over the Bama/LSU game?
Because there are other factors in play, you guys are just looking at through your bubble prism. Did you know for a fact that LSU and Bama would be 1 and 2 last spring or whenever they picked the Bama Fla game? Given LSU was playing Oregon in week 1, and at MSU and at WVU, it was not unreasonable to think LSU might have a loss or 2 by 11/5. To say other wise is BS. The CBS prime time game has been in Sept or early Oct for quite sometime. Nov is a sweeps months, if they felt the ratings would be better, I'm guessing they would have picked the LSU-Bama game. Just because LSU fans would rather a night game, doesn't mean it would be better for the Network.

College football consistently kicks the shite out of anything shown on Saturday night
bullshite.
The Bama-Fla game got a 2.something rating, that's not that big of a deal.
I guess I should rephrase, the network may make more $$$ sticking with their regular lineup. If they could make more showing CFB, then they would. Why do guys think you know more about what's more profitable programing for the CBS than the guys that run CBS? At the end of the day, you are just stating your prefence and you are butt hurt because you are not getting your way.
You also have to look, not just at ratings last week or this year, but over time.
If as you guys suggest, that CFB ratings for regular season games on prime time would do much better financially for the network, then the guys at CBS must be blithering idiots. In which case I suggest you start your onw network, given your greater insight, you should be able to put CBS out of business fairly easily.

Wrong. The Bama-UF game drew 7.6 million viewers. It beat ABC's big primetime game Nebraska-Wisconsin (5.7 million viewers) that was hyped by ESPN all week and where College Gameday took place that week.
....and FWIW ....the shitty Ohio State-Nebraska matchup had a higher rating that the shite re-runs that CBS broadcast this past week.
