This.

Do we really want to give the other fan base all day to liquor up?

Get over it people! Whether they play at 2:30 or 7:00 we have no control over it. Enjoy being a Tiger fan right now!

CBS really screwed the pooch by jumping the gun and putting Bama/UF in prime time.

How long where you an executive at a network making programing decisions? I'm sure these guys at the networks are totally clueless. Clearly because one group of fans, from one school perferes night games, the Network should schedule that teams games over other programing. I mean everyone in the country has the same feelings and desire to see LSU at night right?

You and I may not like the shows CBS shows on Saturday night, but there are more people that will watch those than will watch most CFB games, even this year's version of the "Game of the Century"

Yeah, it would be stupid not to do that. Kinda like letting the #1 team in the country play in the 11 am slot

How about the fact that anyone that watches college football knew Bama was going to skull-frick Florida? Or did your network programing experience tell you that Bama/UF was going to be better than Bama/LSU?

Oh wait, you do get it. So why your confusion as to why someone else would be questioning the genius of taking the UF/BAma game over the Bama/LSU game?

For CBS their "primetime" slot is 2:30pm. The play around and have one big game at night per year

They can and have previously moved the LSU Bama game to a 4pm CST start time. This may be the happy medium

Does ABC have the option to pick this game up?

College football consistently kicks the shite out of anything shown on Saturday night. There is a reason why conference realignment is happening and it is due to college football becoming a major ratings draw. Bama/Florida scored a 2.7 rating which was almost a whole rating point above the ABC game and around 1.5-2 rating points above what is usually on CBS. The Bama/LSU game will be the highest rated game of the regular season and should get something between a 3.5-5 (give ratings of these types of games in the past). The one thing I know that doesn't matter at all in this decision is CBS's Saturday prime-time schedule.

This is not even close to being true. College football coverage far out rates 48 hrs or whatever bullshite cbs shows on Saturday nights. Check your facts.

They won't be stupid enough to NOT move #1 v #2 to primetime......will they?

Thay cannot and will not. They have lots of shows that consistently draw better than college football. They signed a contract that says they show one night game a year. On a year to year basis they were not willing to shell out the cash for 2 night games because there will not always be a #1 v #2 game in November.

No, they don't. They may have a contract that prevents them from doing it but it has absolutely nothing to do with their Saturday prime-time line up.
