getting down to 4 is very tough, but any such list without Tommy Casanova is void.

I'm pretty close to thinking the same thing about the Honey Badger. He single-handedly changed the course of so many games that I've lost count.

I am starting to see a consensus Top 10 here (players only):

Mathieu
Cannon
Casanova
Peterson
Taylor
Jones
Hodson
Faulk
Tittle
Stovall

Maybe half a notch below is Dalton Hilliard. That guy was just unbelievable.

Charles Alexander might need an "honorable mention" as well.

Only correct answer is: Y. A. Tittle, Cannon, Casanova, Bert Jones.

Jones only started 1 year, no way you put him over a 4 time All-SEC player. I'd put Mathieu on there before Jones.

Hate to say it...Without Saban showing how dominant the program could be, we might still be in the 80's outcome for the program.

What about Brett Bech? He ran the best routes in the history of LSU football.

WTF they use a picture of Cannon during his time at LSU but not one of Faulk and Tommy? I wan't to see All Eyez on 3 on Mt Rushmore!

Dietzel? maybe, but definitely not Charlie Mac.

Hodson was good for his era - not an all-timer.

Billy Cannon - No doubt about it! Co-best player ever
Leonard Fournette - No doubt about it! Co-best player ever. Championship?
Patrick Peterson - Co-best player ever
, but no championship.
Les Miles - Got to two national championship games. Needs another natty to cement his legacy.
Saban would be on it if he had stayed in the pros.

The only reason Faulk is considered better than Hilliard by the rant is that he was more recent and more highly recruited. Hilliard had no breakaway speed. Other than that he was among the best running backs of all time at any level. I'll grant that the lack of breakaway speed is pretty important.

Within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage I'd take Hilliard over all but about 15 backs I've ever seen.

Seems like Mount Rushmore should have 4 running backs.

Hodson over Bert Jones is wrong. Faulk is no Charles Alexander, who is the greatest LSU RB alum... soon to be passed by Fournette.

And there was this Casanova guy who was a 3-time All-American. Also, his name is on Tiger Stadium, along with Cannon's. And we still need to find a slot for Dorsey and possibly Josh Reed.

I'd go:

Cannon
Casanova
Dorsey
Fournette

ETA: YA Tittle wasn't all that great, even by his own admission, at LSU. He made his name in the pros, but his LSU performance wasn't that stellar.
