He didn't deny he said it. He said something to the effect of in 30 years I haven't been cavalier or disrespectful to an opponent but in the age of social media if someone wants to prop up a comment like that and make it something it's not, it's hard to stop it.

I mean, he said it to fans at his show, so it's not like he was talking to national media saying it. Regardless, it's best not to make those comments because when you get your arse whipped, you're going to get questions about making the comment.
I think Kelly was overconfident and it showed by the dumb 4th down calls in the 1st half instead of taking the points.

Admit it or don't penalize your players if they slip up and say " we are going to beat heck out of ".
