Alright, I'll bite.

Bengals record since 2000

2019 - 2-14
2018 - 6-10
2017 - 7-9
2016 - 6-9-1
2015 - 12-4; 0-1 Wild Card
2014 - 10-5-1; 0-1 Wild Card
2013 - 11-5; 0-1 Wild Card
2012 - 10-6; 0-1 Wild Card
2011 - 9-7; 0-1 Wild Card; Drafts Andy Dalton
2010 - 4-12
2009 - 10-6; 0-1 Wild Card
2008 - 4-11-1
2007 - 7-9
2006 - 8-8
2005 - 11-5; 0-1 Wild Card
2004 - 8-8
2003 - 8-8; Drafts Carson Palmer
2002 - 2-14
2001 - 6-10
2000 - 4-12

Total 20-year post-season record - 0-7
20-yr Record - 145-172-2 ; 45% winning percentage

Head Coaching Tenure

Marvin Lewis - 16 years (2003 - 2019)
Dick LeBeau - 3 years (2000 - 2003)

Principal Owner & General Manager
Mike Brown - 1991 - present

Production would suggest that the Bengals are the very definition of a mediocre program, with above average success when drafting a definitive QB prospect. While the coaching philosophy may change due to a head coaching turnover, I would argue that until Mike Brown is relieved of his GM duties, this program will continue this trend of mediocrity indefinitely.

Judging by the correlation of production of the current coaching staff & the coaching tenure of Dick LeBeau, I would argue that their final outcomes would be very similar - if not for the (likely) drafting of Joe Burrow. Burrow shows signs of being a once-in-a-lifetime caliber of a prospect, and I predict that he will perform just well enough to provide similar team production of Andy Dalton's peak years. This will all but guarantee the continued employment of the current coaching staff (similar to that of Marvin Lewis' tenure), and secure the inevitable continued streak of program mediocrity.

People in the NFL will tell you the same thing. Cincinnati, specifically the Brown family, relies on the organization being a cash cow... Lifestyle business, if you will, unlike most NFL owners who are billionaires who like throwing money at their pet NFL franchise.

The Brown family consistently spends 10-15% below the salary cap, for example, and just deposit the checks in their accounts.

I think whitworth was on local radio the other day saying how they wouldn't let a player bring a Powerade out of the workout facility without docking their pay.

If cash is the main driving force behind the Bengals organization, you just confirmed the likelihood of them drafting Joe Burrow from 99% to 100%. The cash a Manning level prospect will bring in trumps any draft pick or trade offers.

Tampa Tiger may be a little on the slow side. I’m going to cut him some slack and slide him a nice big juicy downvote.

Hell the Bengals look like the Patriots franchise compared to the Jacksonville Jaguars out here. I think Joe Burrow will help the Bengals out tremendously and people will pack the stands to watch their hometown kid try and do that. They have talent so I wish him the best.

People knock the Bengals, rightfully so, but they have been to 2 Super Bowls in their history meanwhile how many for the Jets(1), Cleveland(0), San Diego(1), Detroit(0), Arizona(1), Atlanta(2), Tampa(1) and many of our beloved, the Saints(2)? Been a long time but the history is there, which means it can happen again. I wouldn't bet on it anytime soon but when O was hired many thought we'd never win a National Title. shite happens in sports

Yeah, well, the Bengals two Super Bowl trips were in 1981 and 1988. Paul Brown died in 1991 and Mike Brown took over. How many have they been to since then? Get the picture?

Bite all you want, palmer hasn't been there 10 years. He doesn't know what's going on. Also, his best QBR with the bengals was 66. Seems he wasn't interested in winning . He has had a QBR over 70 one time in his career. Seems he I said the loser.

Not to mention his 92-88 career record. Barely won 50% of his games.

I just hate when average players talk shite. He had a losing record as a cincy QB. Let's blame others for his shitty play

TampaTiger22, I’m done debating. You’re clearly not grasping the point. The Bengals are average, & will continue to be average until the owner steps down from GM duties. Remember me & this thread ten years from now when the Bengals highest peak of the decade is a wildcard playoff loss.

Paul Brown was a football genius, on a par with Halas.

His son isn't and thinks he hit a triple when he was born on third base

I honestly forgot about you already. Not saying you don't have a valid point, just saying palmer is a bum. A bum who doesn't win anywhere. So for him to talking about winning is laughable. As for forgetting about you, I am just saying I don't typically get into these disputes, so I don't ever check to see I feel someone responded. You are correct about the GM . I am just saying palmer is a bum. You are ok with me.
