Ditto. That applies once a year for LSU players on teams outside of the NFC South who play Saints and 2 times a year for Clayton, LaFell and others.

Still remember him most for the Miss. State hit. The State player's neck must hurt every time he thinks about the game.

More LaFell love...

LINK

quote:

Training camp has been going for three days now, and based on both what I have heard from my eyes on the ground, coupled with the national media there are two players who are already standing out as being bonafide steals from the 2010 draft.

Surprisingly, one of them isn’t Jimmy Clausen- though early reports are he’s looking impressive.

Wide receiver is a position that the Carolina Panthers were is desperate needs of when they entered the 2010 draft, and by all accounts 3rd round rookie Brandon LaFell is wowing media and fans alike in Spartanburg. The big knock on LaFell was his lack of good, reliable, soft hands… but this seems to be as far from the truth as any scouting report. LaFell caught almost everything thrown at him, got good release, blocked well and punctuated his Friday with a leaping, one handed catch that drew a large chorus of ‘ooooohs’ from the fan base.

Doucet to light it up for the Cardinals this year.

The problem is who will get the ball to Early. And of course him staying healthy.

Maybe not having the ball thrown at your feet helps out with making catches. LaFell really didn't have a drop problem his last two seasons, its just that everyone remebers his early struggles. Most of his drops last years were more with poorly thrown balls. Not saying he never dropped a pass, but it was way oversatated his senior year. He was our most reliable receiver, and he put up great numbers his last two seasons.

He was a steal in the third round.

Its amazing how quickly people forgot about Lafell's interception he basically gave to Auburn. For the rest of that season fans absolutely rode him. I felt bad for that kid.

It was two and half years ago.

The guy was our best offensive player in 2008 and 2009.

I'm proud of the kid & hope he catches every ball thrown to him as long as the Saints aren't on the other side of the field!

He's playing for the paycheck now. Lot's of incentive not to drop.

All college athletes are playing for paychecks (in the future). They have all the incentive not to drop in college either. The fewer they drop, the higher draft possibility, the higher the $$$.

It was absurd that he fell to the third round anyway. He should have gone no lower than the second round.

Any team that needed a wr and passed on Lafell will rue the day!
