While it may simply be a matter of semantics, I kind of agree with this idiot for once.
Really? How about if you're on the faculty? Or are an employee of LSU? What if you didn't go there but your kid and a significant part of your annual income go there? What if you donate money to the Forever LSU campaign? Or if you pay taxes that support the institution? It's a pretty damn big tent. Just enjoy being in it and worry less about who else is there with you.

Mike Golic can go lick dick as far as I am concerned. I put down over 1000 dollars a year for my 2 seats in Tiger Stadium. I will say "WE" as much as I want. He is such a pussy, the day after LSU skulled frick ND in the sugar bowl he wouldn't even discuss it on his show.

I think it is absolutely the inclusive we. The only problem is when our becomes my and people start proclaiming their own excellence in fandom or when people forget that when you support LSU, it is LSU and not just a collection of sports teams.

I think many of you guys are missing the point. Any of you who has no "official" affiliation to LSU is and can still be a part of "LSU Atheletics".
All the non-alums who support and cherish their association with LSU in that capacity are definitely welcome to do so.
However, every member of the LSU family who had the good fortune of "officially" associating with LSU in some capacity, have a different relationship with LSU (that does not mean I am saying we love LSU more, some one who has no official affiliation might actually have a deeper connection to LSU). Having said that, I as a student have an association with LSU that I cannot shake-off even if I want to, its a permanent association, for better or for worse.
Non-alums however interact/connect with the university at a different level. It might be hard for you to accept, it might be unfair (especially if you belong to the set that actually loves LSU more than alums), however it is what it is.

Booster club members also have that permanent association. It was on the NCAA site and TAF site use to have it on their site in regards to rules and regulations of NCAA athletics. It says something like if you are a representative (Booster) of a Universities athletic interests you retain that status FOREVER. I can't quote the exact words.

LOL. Statements like this just boggles the mind.

In case my sentiments were mis-interpreted, I am grateful that they do so.
I still can't figure out why you guys can't make a distinction between "LSU Athletics" and "LSU as an Institution of Higher Learning". They are not the same, one is a subset of the other.

Again, I want to make a distinction between "LSU" and "LSU Athletics". What you are saying relates to "LSU Athletics".

I'll bet Skip would disagree when he is looking for donations.

If Bertman is trying to raise funds, it would be foolish to say he agrees. Whether he actually does might be a different matter.

Who cares? I say we sometimes. Other times I don't.

+1
Athletics role is ultimately entertainment. The same cannot be said of an education.

Well, we can sure say "WE" when it's time to cough up dough for tickets.

As an LSU alum I say BS!!!
Anyone who backs the P&G can say "we" with me. My dad has no college degree and says "we" all the time when talking about LSU.
Golic=Idiot

What percentage of Tiger Stadium do you think is alumni. I would think that a larger part of the fans in Tiger stadium are not alumni. Some people just could not afford to go to LSU and had to go other routes. IMO I think anyone who cheers for LSU Tigers can use "WE" when talking about our Tigers.

frick that. I was there for every second of every home game and many away games for all the Hallman years and much of Dinardo until I moved out west... no matter how bad the beating. I paid my dues.
Also, if any crowd can say "we," it's LSU. The crowd is part of the team. At least they were until LSU got really good, not they're part of the team for half the game.

I think it funny and dumb looking to be talking into a radio mike when on TV. Never listen to them.

Since it's money which makes the world go round, should a student be able to say we or would mom and dad who ponied up the tuition money be more qualified to say we even though they did not attend LSU. Also, if TOPS is used to pay tuition wouldn't that make all LA. taxpayers part of LSU as we are all contributing tuition dollars to LSU?

Good morning Tiger fans. Today the debate rages on about what some folks call a "pronoun". In my opinion, since I am neither pro-noun or anti-noun, but I'm more an LSU fan than any alum will ever be. In my opinion, this gives me the right to say "we" when referring to the LSU Tigers.
