I know there are diehards, but I guarantee I'm more of a diehard LSU fan than most of the students there right now.

Didn't you love the student support of the mens and womens basketball team. Well at least the students came out in full force when the mens team started doing good.lol. It's funny when certain TAF members can easily get bowl tickets over students.lol. So much for "we" vs "them".lol.

If you look at the number of students that go to a game (any game) verses the ordinary fan more times than not there are more fans than there are students. I for the life of me do not understand why, when you students are paying for that right to get in to see a game in your admissions, do not take advantage of that right. It is up to you the students to keep the spirit strong in all events and need to support your sport teams to make sure that they (the players)know that their fellow students care about and support them. But, when it comes to raising money for all sports teams it is the fans that do more for the sports programs than any students that are attending the university. Yes it is a lot of the alumni that support the teams but at the same time the ordinary fan makes up the vast majority of the support for the teams especially the major programs. The next time you go into Tiger Stadium compare the number of fans verses the number of students that are there and the same can be said of the baseball stadium. We pay not only the price of the ticket but also we have to pay certain fees for the right to purchase that ticket. More times than not 2, 3 or even 5 times the cost of the ticket. So, yes we do have a right to say "WE" when we are talking about LSU sports or anything to do with the University.

I agree with you 100%. You guys pay more for LSU season tickets than a lot of pro football season ticket costs. I can get Chiefs Season tickets for around $600 with no extra fees.lol.

I love how all these guys who didnt go to LSU get uncontrollably pissed when anyone starts this kind of discussion. Its like you raped their children. Some people, including myself take a bit of pride in the fact that we are fans, as well as alumni. Sometimes im a little upset when people who have never had any type of association with the school act like its theirs. To be honest, most of these people dont give a shite about the school, they just care about their "right" to partake in public intoxication at football games, and to show off tiger merchandise. They have no idea whats going on with the school. But hey, as long as the tigers are winning, im sure i'll see you at games.

Oh, and using the rationale "well i guess then i cant be a saints fan cause i dont play for them" is incredibly stupid. Grow up, alumni worked hard to get a degree from LSU and some of them have a personal feeling about bandwagon fans, so get a life and just suck it up. No one is taking your tickets or your national championship stickers on your cars.

Is it really that big of a deal? I lived in LA for 25 years, graduated from SLU, but have followed LSU my entire life. If I had the money and the grades I probably would have gone to LSU but I can't change that. I've lived in GA for the past 20 years but still consider LSU my school of choice. And my son has been to more LSU football and baseball games than any other school. It doesn't really matter where you graduated from, it's who you support. At least my son will have the option, both money and grades, to go to the school of his choice. But he'll always remember the good games and good times he had while he was younger, same as I had with my dad. That's more important to me than anything else.

Just my 2 cents!

Hey non-LSU Alumni super fans....

Do not be insecure about it....You all can say "We" and be just as good or better fans IMO....

This comes from an LSU Alum who is not from the State of Louisiana...
