It still comes up as fricking Toonces now over 5 years after we stopped using it in an official capacity.

Should I post this over on tech board instead where some of the incels would be able to help out with proper contacts etc?

I’ve contacted them multiple times to no avail.

I contacted ESPN, didn’t get a reply, BUT THEY STOPPED USING IT on their broadcasts and website.

Not taking all the credit, but I want to. Previous posts to prove it.

I have tried several times to get this fixed by hitting the Feedback button. Maybe if more people do the same?

Only logo worse than that was when Toonces had the paws out spinning sideways in a fireball or so it seemed.

I used to be able to manipulate Google results.

If you Google the name of my ex-girlfriend’s mother, to this day the first overall result is a photoshopped image of her with devil horns, a Hitler mustache and snot running out her nose.

I did all that in 2011 or 2012, but it still shows up to this day.

FWIW, she was a violent alcoholic and drug addict, and I’ll leave it at that. There’s more, but no need to go into it. Suffice it to say that me taking the liberty to define her legacy for all eternity was more than justified.

I’ll edit with the photo as long as doing so won’t get me banned.

This is the image referenced above. It still shows up first overall in Google when you search her name.

Mods, if this is frowned upon, please delete and take mercy on me.

I apologize because I was going somewhere with my earlier comments but completely forgot to get around to making my point.

There are ways to accomplish this. I could probably get it done fairly quickly if I had proper access to LSU’s various official accounts with Google, or if I knew what third-party contractors LSU uses to manage online reputation.

It can be done organically (which in this context means without paying anyone outside the university to do it). However the easiest way is probably for LSU to open an AdWords account (they almost certainly already have one - this is Google’s advertising program), spend enough money to get an account rep (again, probably already have one), and ask said account rep to make it happen.

When their commission depends on it, you’d be surprised at what those low-level sales reps can get done.

The web / social team could alternatively hire an SEO guy/firm that knows what he/they are doing. Anyone in that business who is worth paying for their services could get rid of Toonces and replace it with the preferred logo in search results and other Google properties.

To be clear, I’m not offering to do it and am not even in that line of work. However I know a lot about it. It really shouldn’t be that hard to do that if the school cares enough to do it.

that’s what I sent ESPN and it was gone from the OU game and website/clubhouse page.

Again, I didn’t get a reply from them but it’s gone so I’m happy regardless.

As for Google, I’ve sent the same message but through their built-in feedback emailer.

You’d really figure that someone from LSU would care enough. It’s literally on the DO NOT USE list per the teams official site.

Every time there is a hurricane in the gulf, their hurricane logo is spinning the wrong way. I comment to them every few days and it is never fixed. Good luck.

If LSU cared about my opinion, I’d refer them to Dean Cacioppo of DeanKnows.com.

I’m not Dean, and have nothing to gain by plugging him (have only met him twice). But he’s the best in the business.

He’s done work for me before and I’ve been 100% satisfied with the results.

If any of you know the right people and care about this issue, maybe pass along the above referral.

NOTE: Again, I have no affiliation and he doesn’t even know I’m posting this. He and his company do excellent work though, and his job is literally to resolve issues such as this one.
