13 wins, SECW, SEC champs?
Basically screwed out of a NC by having to give the only team in CFB on your level a rematch?
Cmon.

How bout for '16 you just use offensive numbers put up by coach E? Being he is back as the OC.

Only to get cornholed bc Miles/Jefferson on 1/9/12

Our offense was terrible, absolutely terrible when Jefferson took back over the starting job, especially at the end of the season.

Well he's just basing it off history. It's not like it's some wild unrealistic thought.

The future isn't based off of history. The offensive roster next year will be completely different than last year and the strengths likely lie in different areas.

We are deep at wide out and don't have the RB stable like we're usually spoiled with. Whether the offense is successful or not you can bet it will be different.

Based on returning production, LSU is ranked 114/120. So it’s not unreasonable to wonder how bad it will be if our somewhat mediocre offense of 2017 will be worse if we are going to be playing with players not good enough to crack that starting offense.

That being said, it is also not unreasonable to say we really have no idea what the season holds for LSU in offense.

That’s a good narrative, provided you don’t let the facts and statistics get in your way. The numbers look suspiciously similar in the regular season looking before the Alabama game vs after the Alabama game.

Does that factor Giles into the equation?

Actually the stretch of games Jefferson started between 11-5 and SECCG was the highest total O of the season, and naturally it dropped off when facing the #5 and #1 defenses in the country, just like it did for Lee on 11-5-11(in spectacular fashion).

I do think our defense this year has that upside. Like the 2011 defense there were a lot of players who emerged and took their game to another level. There's a lot of those players in this years defnese. Divinity Jr, Monroe, Alexander, Tyler Taylor, Chassion, Fulton, delpit,

History says that, in that exact scenario, we’d win every game up to the national championship game, then be embarassed 21-0 on the largest stage.

People forget how good the punt coverage team was that year too. Hopefully some of these wide outs can become elite gunners

Purely based on returning players from last years roster, as I understand it.

OH, I didn't and still don't see "NC" in OP's question, but I guess it's subjective.

Not surprising then. We know what we're losing in the skill position areas.

If Giles can be an immediate force that will help with some of the inexperience.

Bama went undefeated in '09 with an even worse offense(scoring), and of course no mulligan.

Win what? Of course we can win game with that formula. Just don’t expect to win against any top teams without being able to score points consistently.

Please take a look at scoring offense, as that is the only offensive stat that matters.

Yeah Peej, Miles should have put his foot down with Cam protecting Harris and had Etling more ready for 2016.
Also the first 4 games had a couple tough defenses, where the remaining 8 games had only a couple tough Ds later in the schedule allowing more time for Etling to acclimate.
