I think the game has evolved and you need a good passing game with the elite defense. So no matter how good we are on D, we can’t hide the offense.

Defense does not win championships anymore. That ship sailed around 2013/2014.

So you’ve already concluded that this offense is gonna be terrible without the starting 11 taking a practice snap together much less a game snap? You people need to stop this shite.

Well he's just basing it off history. It's not like it's some wild unrealistic thought.

The future isn't based off of history. The offensive roster next year will be completely different than last year and the strengths likely lie in different areas.

We are deep at wide out and don't have the RB stable like we're usually spoiled with. Whether the offense is successful or not you can bet it will be different.

I agree with both of you. too many won't believe we can have a good offense because it's been so long.

on the other hand, it's a brand new staff and players with what should be a good offensive line.

defense will give the offense opportunities.

Based on Ensminger and meddlin' O along with mass departures on the O line it is not far fetched to think this offense is going to suck again

No one should believe Lyin' Ed

Somewhere I read that Orgeron is a potato.

You need to be solid in all three phases. Offense defense and special teams.

LSU only had 1 of the 3 last year

Bama- #29 Total O, #1 Total D
UGA- #32 Total O, #6 Total D

OU- #1 Total O, #67 Total D

We won't have a 2011 type defense so the question truly is hypothetical.

Poor offense may be on point though.

Championships are won in the trenches, that has not changed. If our strongest units are our D Line and O Line then we have a shot!

Wow, what a revelation. With the exception of 2013 when LSU had two Pro-Bowl wide receivers and a great running back, LSU's offense has been in hiding since the 2011 SEC Championship game. In fact, it was 2016 that the offense last looked reasonably decent although nothing to write home about.

We don't know what Ensminger will do but he was a thrower in college and he has said the strength is the WR corp this coming year. So it comes down to the play of the offensive line and whether Brennan or Narcisse can be effective.

Ok he's basing it off the fact that LSU hasn't had one consistent in about the last ten years. You can't blame people for having a "I'll believe it when I see it " attitude.

Not in fact, as 2015 was a better offense.
Look it up.

2015 12 games vs 13 for 2016
2015 total yds > 2016

2015 ypg > 2016
2015 ppg > 2016

And for most of those 10 years Miles was a big influence in the offense.

I'm taking a wait and see approach myself because I don't know how either QB will develop. Brennan seems to have a high ceiling but wasn't ready in 2017. People forget he didn't have the benefit of spring practice. I'd say the majority of our success or lack thereof will depend on QB development. Otherwise the personnel has the looks of a pass first offense.

You are seriously confident that Orgeron is better?
I am not impressed so far.

That defense/special teams almost outscored the offenses we faced

No. I think Miles probably knows more about offensive football. He's just more stubborn about his style.
