I think it’s pretty universal most basketball, or even just sports fans in general, would have the opinion that a guy who has lost over half his games and has a less than .300 winning % vs major conference opponents over the course of 3 seasons “sucks. I think it would be much harder to find a significant number of people who would think otherwise.

LSU lost by 13, at home, in a game they trailed for ~35 minutes, and never got closer than with 6 points (briefly) in the second half.

There are about 200,000 games in the history of college basketball that if the losing team could have just shot a little better they would have won. Maybe LSU should hang a banner celebrating the 3x moral victory championships

McNeese lost @ Alabama by the same margin as LSU (it’s unclear if the counted that as a moral victory). They also lost at Mississippi State by 3…the same MSU that beat LSU last year 2x…by an average of 20 points. They also beat a team that went 18-2 in the ACC. Then again, McNeese had that loaded, high priced roster. So I guess that was to be expected.

I hope LSU has a great season this year. I really do. Being a fan of a terrible basketball program is not that much fun. But to try to argue McMahon has been anything but bad at LSU defies all logic and rational thought.

Brady, Johnson and Jones have to be thinking “where were these delusionally optimistic fans with a bar for ‘success’ so low it might actually touch the ground when we were at LSU? We actually won a few games!
