1st let me say, I was a huge WW fan and supporter. Just like football, we will take a step back before we can step forward. Now that that's said, who ya got for next coach?

I really liked Musselman before this year, he makes $4mill and I don't know LSU is a better job than Arkansas for the next few years. (I still like him, just hated going against him and losing thrice). Tony Bennett has ties to BR. Who else and why?

Arkansas actually supports its basketball program, it’s a much better job than LSU. You’d have to offer Musselman double just to get him to pick up the phone

Brother you aren't getting someone like muss.

We have to hope we hit on some mid major hire. North Texas HC Mcasland?, Or the Vermont coach might be good hires.

I wouldn't be opposed and taking a shot at Anthony Grant from Dayton, maybe see if the second time is the charm in the sec.

We just fired a winner who had 2 - 5*'s and a 4* in next years class with what would have been a top 15 returning ranked team at least.

frick taking a step back. That's unacceptable. Football was crippled. This basketball program is at the strongest it's been in 15+ years.

Woodward doesn't get to hire a guy who needs time. He needs to win day 1.

The AD decided that this was the best way for our program to go and we would have won a shite load of games next year so I don't understand why we should expect less?

New coach gets 1 year to get his class in then I expect yearly NCAA tournament births at a bare minimum.

LSU has the worst facilities in the SEC, worst fan experience, and a basketball illiterate fanbase.

Guys like Tony Bennett and Musselman aren’t coming here unless they’re paid elite CFB coach money.

Then why the frick do you fire Wade?

If he was fired it was to appease the NCAA. If we fired him and they still hit our program then our Admins are not only weak, they're dumb too.

You either get the deal in place and say "slap on the wrist and we fire him but if you're still going to hit us then we'll just ride it out with our winner that has built our program from the ashes"

LSU Basketball is royally fricked. Yes I was a huge Will Wade guy, I won’t deny what he did was stupid and wrong, just can’t accept all of the double standards and such these days. We are about to go into a very dark era in Men’s Basketball. All the fans who were hammering Wade will be wishing he was still our coach, cheating or not.

This is not LSU Football. This is not LSU Baseball. We at best are already at a disadvantage there, and with potential sanctions among other things we will be fricked. Every name I’ve seen thrown around from “legit sources” would all be absolute jokes of hires outside of maybe 1 or 2 potential mid major guys. I mean if we honestly are talking about going after a guy like Archie Miller or Andy Kennedy, LSU basketball would be an unbearable product. Unless Woodward can land some massive guy, then that’s the only way what happened here was right. And I just see no way LSU basketball can get some massive name, or some savant or prodigy. LSU Basketball is done.

You guys are so silly with the “big time sanctions” nonsense. Who’s the last hoops program to have any more than a 1 year self imposed post season ban. Louisville? Nope, Auburn, nope, Memphis, nope, Syracuse, nope. Do you guys even follow basketball? Syracuse had 13 violations and got nothing.

A coach no one has heard of to keep the seat warm until the sanctions are over. Unless we aren’t hit with sanctions and that changes everything. But let’s be real here lol

Dude nobody gets major multi year sanctions anymore. It just doesn’t happen. Louisville was worse than this and got a slap on the wrist, Syracuse had 13 violations and got nothing, Alabama did what we did and got nothing. We likely won’t even have a post season ban, we can get off with a couple of scholarship penalties.

I know Mussleman's people. His wife and daughter love Northwest Arkansas. He won't be relocating any time soon. They have the number two rated class coming in and will likely get another 5 star player in this class. Arkansas has an elite arena, fairly new practice facility, a fanbase that loves basketball, and a state that produces four and five star HS basketball players every year. Plus I'm hearing he'll get another raise after the NCAA tournament is over.

Paid Colin Sexton. They just changed coaches and paid a fine.

The NCAA has lost its power, they’re mall cops now. The schools carry the power now

I was a Wade fan but the smart move was to fire him. What he did could easily be separated from the program completely and save us from anything more than a fine so ok I get that. What we have to worry about now is the next hire, are we finally gonna invest in the basketball program so we don’t have a coach who has to pay recruits out of his own pocket or will we just hire some bum and go back to 11 to 17 win seasons every year?
