Fedora, Mora, Mullen, Wittingham

For the right price, these guys would likely come. If this class can be salvaged, this roster is built to win next year.

Fallbacks- Fuente, Shaw, Petrino, James Franklin.
These guys all have significant drawbacks and/or baggage. Hope we don't get that far down the list.

No, I still don't think he is coming next year.

Do you have any valuable input on the matter or is name calling your ceiling?

Jimbo would immediately accept the job. You don't know what you're talking about

If Jimbo or another big name deal is not done. I would keep Miles

Is that realistic. I have no idea .

Realistic list if Miles is fired or resigns

Lane Kiffin
Mullen
Franklin
Gundy
Fedora
Schiano
Coach O
Freeze
Stoops from KY
Willingham
Patterson
Bielema

I am not saying all are acceptable. But who we can legit hire

Besides a list of coaches. I would be putting what type of program we want list :

Discipline
Open to a modernized run oriented Offense
Recruiter that enjoys recruiting
Values defense and is going to play an aggressive style of defense
Represents LSU well and has high value system
A student / teacher of the game
Demanding
Younger side of the spectrum

Then marry that list to the list above

I didn't say I wanted him. He has not been a rousing success at PSU. Still, he had a solid run in the SEC. Would you take a coordinator over him, after his success at Vandy? The guys on that part of my list are the ones you look at before going to guys like Kiffin and Smart, who have even worse baggage or no HC experience.

Freeze and Patterson are not realistic. Neither would leave where they are.

Schiano and Stoops would cause riots and fan revolt. There are several coordinators who should get the nod over either of them.

Frank Wilson would be a better choice for an in-house hire than O. You can't overlook what a disorganized mess he was at OM. He didn't have to set up a program and run it as the interim at USC. He would eventually have to make big changes here. I don't see how we could trust him to do that. If we want a recruiter, then keep Frank Wilson. Again, I certainly hope we don't end up that far down a search list. That would be pretty rough.

Fisher is certainly realistic candidate. Don't be dumb.

All legit points. I really don't think O is who we want either

I don't know the Freeze situation as to If he would leave . Does he have certain ties that would make you think that. He loses a bunch of folks .... And maybe I am just biased but would have to be considered an upgrade to come to LSU.

Patterson I have on the list just thinking he has to be tired of fighting the uphill battle with what he has and gets .

This thread is full of fail.

Fuente just signed a new contract weeks ago.

Gruden takes his name out of every coaching search and hasn't coached for years now...he also has had way more bad seasons as head coach than people care to admit.

Everyone keeps posting here that Fisher has said that LSU is his dream job. Can someone post a link to a credible news source that reported that? Hint: a credible news source is not a thread from this website.

Kelly is having problems in the NFL and could be available after next season, but he won't be available this year.

Do you think that the current head coach at FSU would be put on record saying something like that

or

do you just not believe that these conversations take place off the record?

So you think that he trusts someone enough to have this conversation with?...and that person chose to come to the exclusive social club of tigerdroppings to spread the rumor?

Freeze is a lifelong Ole Miss fan, if memory serves. I'm not sure if he's from Memphis, but he coached HS here and in Jackson, TN after his first stint at OM. I'm pretty sure he's given strong indications that this is his dream job, and that he isn't leaving.

Also, this isn't like when Tubby left OM for Auburn. Vaugh-Hemmingway was terrible, and the program didn't have near the money that others did. The more recent SEC TV contracts have changed all that. He's proven that he can win big there. Even if he doesn't have titles yet, there no reason he has to leave to win.

As for Patterson, if he hasn't left by now, I just don't see it. Being based in Texas, he will eventually build a team that can challenge for a title. He's gotten close for two years. They just don't have enough depth, and just had terrible injury issues this season. He would be a home run hire if he would leave, though.

There is a lot of smoke that Gary Patterson wants out of FW. He'd love the talent he'd be able to attract in BR.

And a funny thing happened with him 2 years ago: he realized his offense couldn't keep up in the modern game and he changed it.
