The level of attention he's getting is insane even if he was completely healthy he may not crack the middle of the bullpen. We brought in arguably the best transfer in pitching class in the country. I wish all the best but this kid was never going to make it to the MLB - with a 93mph for and curve - come on people.
Name all of our relief pitchers that you think are better than Guidry. Also, middle of the bullpen guys are very needed, especially in post season play. They can be the difference in whether or not you advance or go home.

To be honest most of them are better than him right now because for whatever reason he's not pitching so that's a pointless concept to discuss. By no fault of his own there's no clue what level he's at and what steps he has to complete.
But in all seriousness from a coaching standpoint he does not have elite level stuff to start with - so any kind of injury that he needs to come back from he needs to be as good as or better than before.

Well no shite, The guys who are able to pitch are better than the guy who is hurt. We are obviously talking about when/if he returns.

Yeah, he probably doesn't have elite stuff, but it's effective. I'm not really worried about if he can be successful in pro ball. He plays for LSU and has been effective here. Come postseason time, would you rather Guidry or Mayers on the mound?

How many walks again ? In limited action ?
All through last fall scrimmages and his last 10 appearances on the mound last season he's given up 0 ER.
Continue to look stupid.

What the frick are you talking about. Are you dumb or just cant read. what have i flip flopped on. We are with his family all the time. He treats my son like his little brother. Everything I've said except going to a smaller school next year, which i admitted i was wrong has come directly from our my phone call with Gavin yesterday or directly from his parents. My cousin coaches at Barbe and also very close with the family. he coached Gavin's sister on his travel volleyball team. He's very close to Gary, their dad
Go frick yourself! Read what I've posted and you can find everything i have said. You can even find multiple pictures of our families together and alot of my son with Gavin at Barbe working out. I'm not about to give your dumbass a picture of my son or myself

I know your familiar with Barbe and Gavin. You have been spot on with Gavin's injury and his previous issues going back to his freshman year in high school. I don't know this Boosie actor but you've read my post. Tell this jackass i wouldn't know his history if we didn't know each other. I believe i was to tell everyone asking if he just doesn't play summer ball that Jay sent him to driveline to focus on pitching

You last night:
You today:

He isn’t considering redshirting, unless Jay gets through to him. But I don’t think him or his family is going to be fine with a redshirt. He willl probably go to one of the 7schools that gaurateed him he would start at SS Day1 and be the closer for them.
You today:

He loves LSU and I don’t see him leaving LSU for any reason.

He actually got worse from the only measurable analytics that you can look at.
His career is over at LSU - barring a few innings here ir there - and if he comes back next year he'll be working construction before the years end with the belly bomb king ( these guys will do fine )

Except ERA and OPPBA. Both were significantly better last year they were in 2023. And if you actually go into the details game by game, he was better across the board
From his March 30 outing against Arkansas through the end of the season, Guidry gave up one earned run, a solo HR to Christian Moore

Not to mention the offseason where he developed a 4-pitch mix and was neck and neck with Ware as the best pitcher in the Fall. Guidry will instantly be a top-3 reliever once he is back in full capacity.

Just so there's no confusion Houston - you're saying Guidry got surgery/ a treatment today before LSU traveled and he is expected to be able to contribute as early as this weekend?

see your first mistake was paying attention to what these jackasses say on here
they literally have a median IQ under 90.....come here during any weekend series and you will be able to tell that in about 2 seconds.
And I know you know Gavin and the family or you wouldnt know what you know
and honestly best thing gavin could do this off season is leave immediately to go to driveline or thread spend all summer there as soon as CWS is over.
he needs to gain about 20 lbs of muscle over next year or so. Easily doable with his frame but gonna require him to eat extreme amounts which he isnt exactly fond of. Gonna have to sacrifice a lot of time with the GF too which he isnt fond of either
but dude is one of the best leaders we have and an absolute awesome human
if he can work with driveline and Chris Martin over next 12-16 months really hard and put the weight on he can get the fast ball to 95+ and Driveline can help him design a 3rd pitch to play off the fast ball and the monster curve he has.
