Let's be honest. Nationally and locally perception of Miles has always been, Miles is not the brightest coach, so all this did was reinforce that perception.

CUT TIES NOW.
the man is a recruiting liability going forward.

we have to cut ties now. if we do that we save our current class and get a coach that can use our talent correctly. les probably mind fricked another damn qb after he threw jj under the bus for saturday. Of course the les supporters will use jj as an excuse for leslie to take our program down another notch

would love to egg but I just don't think its going to happen

Egg is right as well as 90% of the other posters on this board.
However, he' likely to be here 2 more years minimum.
So, this will culminate in a 2-9 type season and the program will be set back 2 years, if you get a Saban TYPE coach. I would never endorse bringing Saban back, but he is the turn around type specialist that will be necessary.

Damaged beyond repair to everyone but him...

Let's face it LM is walking away w/ serious cash when he inevitably exits.

Are you talking about next year? You can't be serious?

that is why, as ridiculous as it sounds, that you absolutely have to cut ties NOW.
You've got to cut off the leg before gangreen starts to set in.

His rep was established when he opened his mouth at his first press conference.
Posted on 11/23/09 at 12:31 pm to specs1
He'll need to win a championship, SEC or NC, next season to recover.

what are you guys talking about here. the man makes 4$ MILLION and has #18 MILLION left on his buyout. miles has won the game big time. he has a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP and MILLIONS of dollars. who gives a shite about reputation and perception. I'll trade my sterling reputation and not so sterling bank account for that.

Probably in the next 3 years if he is still here. Very difficult to turn around a snowball.

Of course he's serious. Only the absolute dumbest of the dumb think LSU will have a good season next year. Obviously 2-9 can't be the record because we play 12 games, but a "2-9 type" season is not only possible, it's almost inevitable. I'll go with 4-8, with losses in all 8 conference games, or maybe 1 SEC win and 1 OOC loss.

Totally recoverable ... 10-3 and then an SEC West win in 2010 - complete recovery.
Posted on 11/23/09 at 12:44 pm to specs1
I sincerely hope he spends the next 10 years making up for this one.
Posted on 11/23/09 at 12:44 pm to specs1
I think he has next season and then he's out
Posted on 11/23/09 at 12:46 pm to BilJ
Too big of a demise to overcome. Will never recover from this.
