There have ALWAYS been big time coaches in Florida. There are a LOT of recruits and LSU can stand on it's own merits.

This is the essence of the rant right here. Ignorant doom and gloom thread.

That said, I coached HS football in Florida for a few years. I watched schools like UCF, FAU, FIU, & USF continue to quietly build their facilities to a respectable level thanks to Florida Pre-Pay. Google it to learn all about it.

On top of that, USF & FAU are basically on some of the most beautiful water & beaches in the country. Boca Raton recruits itself & Kiffin will use every ounce of that to his advantage. Now they have big name coaches, both who have been a part of National Championships.

Also, do not discount the growing fact that KIDS today don't want to leave their home areas in droves. They love to play as locally as they can, particularly lower income top flight Florida athletes.

Add it all together & you've got a ridiculously rich talent pool in the state that now has very little reason to leave their home state.

So I ask again, is it even worth the trouble? We have our own state full of talent with no competition in state. We have a strong foot in the state of Texas which is now going to be easier to poach with TAMU sliding backwards & UT can only take so many. Baylor is a dumpster fire.

Answer to OP = yes.

Not gonna stop recruiting Florida, so not gonna stop landing Florida recruits. LSU has a historically recent pipeline through Florida and that won't be changing any time soon.

Well, it has always been a zero-sum-game with many OOS schools competing there. I'd say it will get more difficult, but only slightly.

Name a time in history that the state of Florida, or ANY state for that matter had a collection of head coaches of this caliber.

FSU, UF, Miami, FAU, USF, UCF, & FIU (that's 7 schools) that now have a combined +8 National Championships between their Head Coaches as Head Coaches or Coordinators in their careers. The experience level of these coaches is unprecedented for an entire state.

With O leading I doubt we land them from our own state.

LSU will "never" (except an odd year every now and then) get all the 4-5 stars from Louisiana, but they will get some from other states to make up for it. Quit bitching like a whiny little titty-baby that can't have every shiny new toy in the store.

The little schools are not picking up much, also im guessing you are giving guys credit for a National Championships as assistants. Kiffin is an elite HC? Strong? Frost? How many NC have they won as HC? Compared to Bowden Spurrier, Davis?

Yes, I'm counting NCs as HCs & OC/DC in their careers.
Jimbo has 2 or 3. McElwain has 1. Richt has 1. Strong has 1 or 2. Kiffin has 2 (basically 3 if you count this year). Davis has 1 I believe. Conservatively that's 8. Frost doesn't own 1 but has experienced quality success from Oregon.

When is the last time you set foot on any of their campuses?

Aside from the fact thay their female student bodies DESTORY anything you'll ever find in the LSU Quad, their campuses are practically brand new & beautiful. Athletic facilities & amenities are solid.
Like I said earlier, USF & FAU sell themselves on location alone. Now throw back in all the gorgeous girls in short shorts & tank tops/bikinis partying in the sand & on boat parties or out in the nightlife scenes of Tampa/Boca/Miami Beach.

Strong & Kiffin will bring their quality staffa to campus & turn some heads.

Yes we did. But that was 3. Way more 4 & 5 star recruits to go around & leave the state.
Now we're legitimately competing with up to 7 coaches/programs (more than double).

Dude it's USF and FAU. LSU will not ever have to worry about recruits picking them over us if the recruit is seriously considering us. I mean MAYBE they get ONE every 3 or 4 years? Big time players want to play for big time programs. That's never gonna change.
